Ok, guys... the last preseason game just ended. I said I'd open the league (ie, hit the 'Submit Draft Results' button) the day after the last preseason game has ended. So I'll be opening it up late Saturday night. It doesn't matter if you aren't around for when the league opens up, because all players who haven't been picked are on 'Waivers' instead of being "Free Agents", which means that a bunch of owners are allowed to make a claim on a player and the computer decides who gets him based on who has the best waiver position. For more info read the the rules.

Any concerns, changes, etc before tomorrow night?

We missed a very important fact when we decided to go with an even amount of rounds so that everyone would have an equal chance to go first... Waiver priority is simply the reverse of the draft order. Hence, those at the back end have, in essence, an extra chance to go first. (Shoulda done odd number of rounds, guys...)

I'd make the simple request that the waiver priority be randomized prior to the league opening up, in order to be truly fair...

I don't understand why the umber of rounds should matter, reis. this is a manual (offline) draft, right? So there's nothing Yahoo can do but what we tell it.

Just make waivers the reverse of the first-round order. what's the big deal?

You drop to the bottom of the waiver priority list once you make a claim, so it adjusts itself over time according to usage, right?

Um so? Waivers and the draft are totally different things, and everyone did have a chance to go first in a round an equal number of times during the draft. Not everyone will be using the waivers immediately, thus it would not be fair to have an odd number of rounds and say that waivers will equalize it... unless we force everyone use waivers as soon as the flood gates are open.

Waivers will be reversed of the 1st round. I'm sorry, but having the 12th person pick first in the last round doesn't equal to getting a chance to get Priest Holmes.

Btw, the season HAS begun. So set your lineups and use the wire if you want.
