I sadly never tasted the flesh of these cute animals So I compensate by eatting rabbits.

And of course I learned to eat Bratwurst (Sauerkraur it a different thing, as it is a quite common course in France too, and I dislike it since childhood). I learned to taste most things Schwabenland has to offer

I have a funny story from the last stay in Paris with my family. We were sick of the hotel food and decided to go out in one of the little French restaurants along the street to have some real French food. Of course the menu card was in French only (English is evil, mind you) and I didn't understand squat what all these dishes mean. At the end of the list, I found a dish that had the word "pork" (or was it porc?) in it. Pork is good, I thought, at least it's not frog, or jellyfish or something like that. Pork is something a German can sink his fangs into.

We ordered it, and it went out to be pork knuckles (Eisbein) with sauerkraut. Typical French I have to say...

Typical Alsacian.

And all of our food is regional food actually (there is no such thing as "French" food, but Alsacian, Breton, Provincial, Southwestern etc.)

Sauerkraut is as typically French as is a crepe or a Cassoulet. You weren't lucky however
