Paradigm Celebrates 10 Years Since Planetfall

23.51.29 / M.Y. 2110 - (Paradigm Omnimedia Headquarters, Elysium Highlands, Chiron): Standing on a festively-adorned stage in an operations garage that had been commandeered for the occasion, Paradigm Omnimedia Director of Public Relations Wes Fortier addressed a crowd of several thousand on the anniversary of the foundation of the settlement, telling the jubilant onlookers that "history will look favorably upon your efforts . . . You are building the foundation of an economic dynasty." His speech was followed by an audiovisual retrospective of the past ten years, which included commentary by Paradigm CEO Maestro Jason Clor.

Population growth at the base has been remarkable given the harsh conditions that faced colonists in the early days after their forced landing on the inland plateau now known as the Elysium Highlands. Thanks in part to moderate to high local rainfall levels, as well as several local aquifer-fed rivers, there have been ample crops to feed hungry, hard-working personnel and their growing families. Paradigm engineers hope to begin implementing an extensive, company-designed agricultural program within the next few years after Earth-born seed stocks have been fully genetically adapted to native soils. Paradigm civil engineers are complaining of heavy work rotations trying keep up with demands for housing, air systems, and waste management facilities to serve the ever-expanding populace.
New Centauri-Adapted Crops
At the end of the evening's festivities, the crowd was treated to a live performance by the new pop singing sensation, Verity. She wowed the star-struck audience with lively renditions of her most recent hit songs, "Message from Earth" and "Starting Over". Holographic recordings of the performance will be available for purchase later this month through all OmniTrax media outlets.
