In a nutshell,
spoiler(highlight to read):
yes, the Priory of Sion is supposed to be a secret organization that guards the offspring of Jesus and Mary Magdalene. It also holds the documents that can prove this. The documents include the family tree of the royal bloodline of the two, the "sang real", a diary of Mary Magdalene telling of her time in what's nowadays France, and a gospel written by Jesus himself, the "Q document". The Priory is just waiting for the right moment to reveal all this to the world - that Jesus intended for Mary to become the rock he'd build his church on instead of Peter. Which in turn would pull out the rug under the RCC's feet.

I finished my previous book, and the current book I'm reading is so abysmal that I can't bring myself to state its name. Here's an idea of the quality though: about halfway through the book, the love interest of the main character has been revealed as being terminally ill.

Small Gods by Terry Prachett.

Also, I stopped by the library, and they had an audiobook of the newest novel by Bernard Cornwell Sharpe's Escape, so I'm listening to it in the car.

(If a book takes place after a previous book, it's a sequel; if before, it's a prequel...but in the middle of a series like Cornwell is doing here...is it a midquel?? It's nice to have Lt. Knowles and Maj. Hogan back; Sgt Obediah Hakewell isn't due for his appearance yet, but I'm sure he'll be along--says so in the Scriptures.)

Da Vinci code was a fun book if you ignore the gross inaccuracies. Would have enjoyed it alot more if it didn't have that stupid note just before it started about everything contained within bieng true, and the author's blind insistance that it is still so after all the critisism. Angels and Demons was the same way.

Reading Guderian's biography right now, facinating for those who like that era and alot of detail. Pre war stuff in especially interesting.

Also re-reading David Brin's Earth, I think you UN junkies would get a kick out of it. If you need an none right wing referance GePaP is a Brin fan if I remember correctly.

David Brin ROCKS!! The Uplift series was one of the best in SF of the last twenty years. Too bad that Costner mangled "The Postman" though.

Currently reading through my 'Ancient Historical Fiction' list.

AUTO-biography or written by someone else? I've read his Panzer Leader, was good, but he does imho quite intentionally downplay geran atrocities vs alllied ones. Otherwise, a good book for a military history enthusiast.

Tingkai, nah, the Kick him in the teeth is poor translation, what I found out the title is closer to 'hit to the mouth'. It's about this young couple and their trials and tribulations.

Next Run is about sadistic border officials who promise that if this family comes forward they'll get into the country but they were kidnapped by those, they sold them like slaves and threatened them... so that's the Next Run, what's the Next Run going to be..

I just finished a novel, by whom I forget, Called "The Boys are back in Town"- fantasy. It was interesting.

I just finshed Reading "What is wrong with Kansas" by Thomas Frank- excellent- all liberals need to read it- does a good job at exploring the Conservative backlash.

I will begin the new Stewart textbook.

I just started The Bourne Identity. It's been a really long time since I read a work of fiction, but I must say it's a nice change of pace.
