My vote remains at D.

I'm fine with getting rid of prebuilds, though the first turn should have 32 BPs to spend, thus giving people the ability to build two, one, or no bases.

I have avoided voting on any other the issues due to lack of experience with this game but any reason why Bases are 16 BPs? And the only reason I ask is because Smiley's question about 32 BPs makes me think about the cost of bases. 16 BPs has a 3+ turn recovery (5 BPs extra per turn).

I would suggest (and again I know nothing, so I am prepared for resounding abuse for suggesting) that the cost for bases be reduced to 14 BPs each.

3 turn recovery sounds about right. The 5-turn recovery of the 7th-12th bases has yet to be recouped by anybody.

so doesn't that suggest that the cost of the 7th-12th bases is too high?

Perhaps 15BPs for 1-6 and 25BPs for 7-12?

I suppose it's too high to build them at all, but in my opinion the BP system has been working well so far and I see no reason to change it.

I abstain on the spy issue; either way is fine with me. Ditto regarding prebuilds. However, I don't think there's any real reason to change the base costs; I saw no particular reason in any of the past games to change the current system.

Conclusions:

No pre-builds. You will start with a base production of 32 BPs and the first turn will be a normal turn.

No support for D, so G wins. I think we should keep B also in this game to see what happens.

The cost of bases remains unchanged.


As for the number of Gs do you think we should have three of them or two of them? Please answer this one question more and we shall start. In any case we'll start tomorrow.

This being a game with many threes (three spy limit, three shield limit, three types of weapons, three turns to recoup base building), three is the most elegant.

I figured someone was sure to not like the idea of changing base costs, looks like no one liked the idea...with the creator of the game liking it least of all.

It does seem however that no one builds bases once they cost more then 16 bps. Does no one else see this as a problem?
