I agree. Smoking ruins are an excellent place for my Armies to wait in hiding for your doomed offensive. My Cossacks' lead will scramble the brains ofyour farm boys, and those that survive the first onslaught will be run through with Cossack swords.

Dispatch to the Lords Rickety and Paddy

An event of intolerable cruelty and incomprehensible treachery has been committed in our sacred Europe.

Spain has launched a massive pre-emptive strike against a major Russian possession, Bordeaux. Not only has Spain destroyed our 2 Cossack Armies together with many other units, but upon capturing the city it was mercilessly razed to the ground.

The shock and horror of this atrocity shall reverberate throughout Europe for decades to come. Russia demands vengeance.

Throughout his reign, the Czar Alexander has acted benevolently towards his fellow European Imperial powers. Not once.....I repeat, not once has sovereign territory of Britain, Prussia or Spain been attacked by Russia. Nor has Britain or Prussia attacked the territory of another Imperial power.

This act of terrorism by Spain is a massive break from tradition, and has escalated what was once a quaint war of words into what will surely become a monstrous and ugly war....a war into which we fear the whole of Europe shall now be plunged.

Russia's pride and sovereign rights have been grossly and mortally wounded. There is now no way back from this path of outright war that Spain has so cunningly and ruthlessly chosen. Russia hereby states her intention, for the first time, to mercilessly pursue the Spanish.

Every last Spanish city shall be burned to the ground. Every Spanish soldier shall be sought out and killed in battle. Those who cannot stand the onslaught shall be shot in the back while fleeing, and those who escape shall be hunted down, rounded up, tortured and decapitated as cowards by a Cossack sabre. The women shall be gang raped and left bleeding to death. The children shall be sent to worker camps in Siberia and their remaining short lives shall be used for the benefit of the Russian economy.

I humbly ask you both.....Lord Rickety - accept peace with Russia and take no further part in what has become a very personal conflict for the Czar. Lord Paddy - cancel all diplomatic communications with the Spanish. Should your consciences dictate that you join Russia in her righteous crusade, then Russia shall welcome your soldiers side by side with hers.

The wrath of Russia is about to be visited upon Spain. Mark my words......Spain shall be torn apart and will cease to exist.

Bordeaux was razed for defensive reasons. The people were evacuated and are on their way back to Spain where they no longer have to endure vodka-soaked rulers.

Not at all. Sweden was never an Imperial power, nor a member of the Grand Alliance. Britain and Prussia both supported, or at least acquiesced to, Russia's annexation of Swedish territories. Prussia ended up with half the land, after all!

Spain on the other hand, actively and purposefully went directly against the collective wisdom of the Grand Alliance, to the extent of declaring war on a member of the Alliance, and arranging Military Alliances with Austria (an enemey of the Alliance) and the Ottomans (an enemy of both Britain and Prussia).

There can be no uncertainty regarding these issues. The truth is plain for all to see.
