I'm not totally opposed to starting up a game with you. But I think one game at a time for a player is a nice load
 |
Kcbob, you're right. Let's make it like a boxing federation. Here's my propositions of rules :
a)Every game played on the Apolyton Chess Club entitles the winner to be crowned King/Queen of the World Civchess Federation (WCC).
b) The King/Queen immediatly defends his/her title against a new challenger.
b2) He/She plays as black.
b3) The new challenger is the first new Apolytiner to step up.
b4) If there's no new challenger, an old one can step up again.
d) Every moves of the game are played on the Apolyton "Other Games" forum.
d2) There is no time limit, but the players try to play at least a move a day.
d3) Everybody is free to comment on the game, but giving moves to one of the player can result in being declared inelegible for the WCC title.
d4) A arbitration court of three people rules. The three people are chosen before the start of a WCC game. Their decisions, taken at the majority of two, cannot be appealed.
Here it is, what do you think ? I'm afraid the english must be improved.
According to my proposition, I should be the next challenger, playing white against the winner of Smash-Carolus.

Tell you what. If the current reigning champion, Carolus Rex, and the ahead-by-his-own-admission challenger, Smash, agree with it, I'll be happy to crush you. *note the false sense of superiority*
Then again, if you beat me, I'll have to go back to playing my sister.
 |
By the way Kcbob, have you noticed all those world champions or challenger whose name began by K ?
Karpov, Kortchnoi, Kasparov, Kamsky, Kramnik, Kcbob ...
I ought to change my name to Julius Krenzaida.

Yes, but... the greatest of all time, Bobby Fisher, would suggest you change to Julius Frenzaida.
*edit* I just noticed my name in your list. Are you talkin' to me??
BTW. I think your list of "rules" is excellent. I would suggest one small change. Whoever is the reigning champion should be given their choice of which side to play. The "spoils of victory", so to speak. Ya think?

Yes Kcbob,I was talking to you !
Fischer was a great player indeed, but to say that he was the best of all time is open to questionning. First of all, I think that Morphy was the greatest american player that ever lived. But Julius Mrenzaida doesn't ring good.
For the rules, I am glad you agree with me. The questions of colors is just a minor detail.
I would like to hear the opinion of the future champion, either Carolus or Smash.
Are they to busy butchering themselves to have noticed our little conversation "en apparté".

Sorry for the long absence!
No ISP problems, no broken leg, I've just been trying to find a nice attack combo getting grey hairs in the process. White always had a saving move, at least I couldn't find The Killing Move...
Not too excited about Rbd8, but my options seemed limited. Will be interesting to hear your suggestions after the game.
