I will have to make sure that I stay away from your history classes. The quality of my French Grammer would drive you insane long before you ever got around to complaining about my spelling. As long as you allow me to provide my answers in German, I should have only a slight problem taking your tests even though they were written in French. I'm not so sure about now, but 15 years ago I could understand about 75% of what I read or was said to me. I will admit to being highly frustrated that I needed my ex-wife to either write things or tell others what I wanted to ask while we were vacationing in France since I can neither speak nor write decently in the language.
Information Systems covers a lot of areas that were once separate. Some people call it Information Technology. It covers not only computer hardware and software, but also long distance telecommunications. I've been working in the field since 1968 in one capacity or another, while management pays better, I prefer programming, Operations, or Installation Design. Four years as a department head was enough for me to find out that I don't like IS management in the least. Other areas of field are more enjoyable and let you get something accomplished.
What level do you teach? I assume High School, Gymnasium, rather than Unversity or they would know how to write decent French by now.

Julius,
I'm not sure that I understand the reason for your move. I'm going to have to double check my placement of pieces on the board. It sure looks to me like you are trading a knight for a pawn and are assuming that you will be able to trap me in the corner. Unless I have messed up the board somewhere I don't see it that way.
Be back to you in a while.

Ken, no grammatical mistake might drive me insane. Id be long dead otherwise. I assume your French is better than the one of my 12-15 years students. More than half of them were not born in Switzerland and French is not their mother tongue. Our school system demands much, probably too much for those children. They have to learn German and English as all the others, but also French while still speaking another FOURTH language at home, Portuguese or Albanian, for example. And if you dont understand French well enough, its going to spell trouble everywhere, in history for example. And the major part of the parents dont speak French at all, so they cant help with the homework and seldom dare to speak with the teachers. The children or social workers have to translate when we want to talk to them. And those parents dont often come from a country and/or a social class where studies are set high on opinion and they barely understand our school system where all orientations are decided between 12 and 15. Many of them dont encourage enough their children to make more studies and some dont even want their children to get free or very cheap help for extra-school rehearsal. All that to explain to you, that the French writing of most of my students is very bad and that only a few of them will go to college. Because the system is not kind for the foreigners and because bad grades are seen as normal by people around them. With more patience and with more praise, the results would be much better. And of course that the teachers, me first, could try to do better, too.
And I was forgetting the worst. Some of those children are refugees and the authorities have not decided if they can stay for long. They may be sent home with their parents, mainly to Kosovo, on a weekly, sometimes daily basis by the police. It is a very tough and unsettling situation for them.
