And hey if some people want to say happy holidays, so what, good for them. Let them say that. But if they say that because of the pressure .. if they genuinely just want to say that then it's just fine..
I don't understand why at the same time santa claus is everywhere then. It's like a double standard right there. We can do what ever we want, except don't say that word, it might insult someone. Why would someone get insulted by that anyway? We say all these different cultures and religions are richness, right? So why can't Christians celebrate christmas in their way without someone getting their panties in a twist? In fact, I've never heard anyone complainign about this, except christians themselves, who want to be all PC and tolerant. We manage to be tolerant on every other celebration, int he name of rich cultures and diversity, yet not to this one? I just don't see anyone insulted by this whole sentence. It doesn't mean anything bad. If someone really is insutled by it, it's their problem of tolerance, because it's not meant to be an insult of any kind, it's wishing someone a good day on this particular day.
If some scifi dudes come and say 'happy cirius day!1' on 27th of March, I won't be insulted and who in their right minds would be?
Yes it's a question of tolerance, but we're taking it to the wrong end! It's the OTHER people that need to tolerate us a little better. I don't see anyone else giving up on their party traditions.

Whether you celebrate Saturnia, Chanukah, Christman, Xmas, Kwanzaa, Festivus, or something else, this holiday season is a time to remember that humanity is all one family.
Peace on Earth, everyone, and good will to all.

Well, today we had a very good day - both Laura and I are so excited about Christmas this year that we both woke up before 5:00... on a day off!
I got online (code for "I logged onto Apolyton"), and then woke Sophie up around 7:45 - OMG, did that kid stink!
I cleaned her up and put her in the bath immediately, which was a good way to start the day (Sophie loves her baths). Got out, got dressed and then I combed her hair, getting all the chocolate/cheese/food/dog saliva-induced tangles out of her hair - success! No crying!
We then went to the mall, met my brother and got in line for Santa. We had already seen Santa, but Sophie was very insistant on seeing him again before Christmas. The four of us stood in line for only 20-30 minutes, and when our turn came, Sophie went up to him and fulfilled her mandate - she told him that she wanted the whack-a-mole and the jungle gym. "I love you Santa" Sophie gave him a kiss and jumped down, "bye-bye."
We then went to eat and then to a replay of The Incredibles. Best Character is easily the fashion designer - "I don't dwell on the past for it detracts from the present!" Sophie was riveted. However, she was pretty wild when we went to the arcade beforehand, and she played a few games and had to wait watching Daddy play some others. My brother won her a My Pretty Pony, which has the complete attention of my daughters heart for about, oh, another 8 hours... and then it'll be forgotten, except as a subset of "That Which is MINE!"
Wait...
Santa just came by, and did Sophie get a haul!
Whack a Mole
Jungle Gym. The wood is apparently arriving on Sunday, Santa said.
The Wizard of Oz, as a stocking stuffer (so I peeked - deal with it).
Anyway, when we got done with the movies and the arcade we left the mall so Dad could cook the turkey.
And that was our Christmas dinner. We didn't do mashed potatos, stuffing, pies, or stuff like that. We cooked a turkey, a bit of broccoli, and some canned cranberries.
Later we went out around the neighborhoods and looked at Christmas decorations, including the Dueling Electric Bills, neighbors trying to beat each other in ostentatiousness of display. I'll grab my digital camera and go out tomorrow night and take some pics of these works of "art".
Sophie put out cookies and carrots for Santa Claus and his reindeer, which they enjoyed while they were here. There'll be pictures tomorrow of Sophie opening her presents, plus, to add to the drama...
We're visiting my sisters tomorrow for food and presents... and my parents are going to be there!
