Actually, you can wait a few more turns. Making a map doesn't require knowing the civs, and we can't do the other part (starting the game) w/o knowing how many people are in the game (6 or 5). So if you want to change your mind _again_, just let me know.

maybe the background color should be something else

I have another idea too - a snake. But I still didn't find any I like. An ancient egyptian inscription is interesting but on these dimensions will not look good.
I hope I'll have some time tomorrow at work and I may make more pictures.

(btw my artistic skills are nearly 0 too)

We need to come out with team name, title, adjective and noun (in this order IMO). The leader should be Conqueror, isn't it?

I vote for that one if I get a vote Of course if you end up going with that one I would send you my .biq with about 20 Discworld cities listed in it (Maya was converted to Ankh-Morpork and given War Elephants as a UU)...

Ormuzd, make sure your pic is 15 x 19 not 19x12... 15 wide 19 tall. It's important.

Murphy's Law in action again : just when i had plenty of leisure time, started couple of PBEM's and joined this demogame - suddenly i have computer repair jobs more then ever

Since that is three to two in favour of the blurb, I think it is best if we submit it to Dominae. Only problem is that we need to use a male leaderhead, for example Alexander the Great, or Caesar. Would anybody complain if we uses Julius in game?
