The next morning Osheroff was discovered dead. The police were once more confused by the murder. "Who would kill someone by dumping He3 down their throats," they wondered.

The police, cofused, headed to the local donut shop.

"Hey look," said Phillips, "Once more the nobel prize is missing, and it looks as if someone had went through his papers." Leggett than said, "That is very interesting, we had been in communication, and he said that he had some revolutionary new results."

"Well, I think it is obvious that the killer is once more one of us, and that the police will never discover the true killer. So let us vote once more, and whoever is chosen write a suicide note admiting the murders of Weinberg, Osheroff, and Cooper", said Wilson.

Cronin nervously pointed out that it did not neccesarily have to be the same killer.

I was going to make this argument myself and then saw it was so obvious I didn't have to, though I'll go ahead and expand on it anyways.

If I were in the mafia, why would I have not changed my avatar yet? It obviously makes me a primary target for executions. Any right-minded mafia who wanted a hope for winning the game would have changed their avatar by now. Of course, you could say that a mafia could use such reverse psychology and NOT change their avatar so they could use this very defense, but that would be a very risky move, as the docpiles over the last two turns have shown.

For no reason other than that it's the only way to avoid getting killed myself, I vote for Ben Kenobi.

OK, I proclaim my belief that you (paramir) are in the mafia. I may be wrong, but encouraging people to not actually try to figure out who the mafia is and instead vote for people who are actually the least likely of all to be in the mafia looks like a sign of mafiahood to me. I can't vote for you this round since I've already voted and have to save myself by voting for Ben Kenobi anyways. In fact, your vote for Ben Kenobi to "make things interesting" could be a further sign--since everyone loves to vote for me, you actually want to keep me alive as long as possible so you can always have a scapegoat .

So if (or when ) you all kill me and I turn out to be innocent, you know who to go after next. I could be wrong, but I'm certainly much more reasonable than the mob accusing me.

Hmmm, looking back through the thread I'm not sure whether you're likely to be in the mafia anymore...I'd like to see your rebuttal to my accusations first.
