And also I want to echo what's already been said: Offer any information you have to the police. Look for new friends altogether. And until this gets sorted out, keep in the company of others whenever possible.

If you can, it might be a good idea to stay with family for awhile. You might even ask the neighbors to be on the lookout for you.

Is this happening in the UK? Two murders would be about 5 to 10% of the usual annual homicide rate in the UK.

They also just found a student of mine from last semester dead in his dorm room of natural causes. Turning into a graveyard around here.

That's because Baltimoreis a shithole. I'm glad I only lived their for 6 months growing up before my parents figured out what a bad idea it was and moved back to California. Finish Med School and move to some where civilized.

If that's what you are suspecting then do not go talk to any of the mutual friends. Try to remember if your dead friend dropped you any clues. You are probably too confused to think straight anyway.

Check it out. A friend of mine was walking along the river and saw a guy he knew dumping a body there. They guy just asked him if he was going to tell anyone. My friend said no, and that was that. Of course my friend went to the cops.

Kid, sure. And I know other cases where the one who tipped off someone got the bad end of the deal. Not to this caliber, but semi serious. If this case is open, and all that, if you feel threatened, don't go to cops. Period. Protect yourself. Screw the rest. These folks saying you should go to cops are not taking things into account. The cops will get it all working.. they will figure it out. And if they don't, or if it takes ages, send in the info. Protect yourself. THat's the most important thing. Like I said earlier, don't be fool.

In my experience the detectives are not like the detectives on television. They will not try very hard to find murderers unless they have something to go on. It's up to civilians to come forward with information.

Something seems funny about those numbers. They're like several hundred lower then everything else I found on the net even when you only look at the violent crime rate. Once property crime is included every city's crime rate is an order of magnitude higher. Still the order seems to be right so maybe a different methidology was used or they are looking at the whole urban area and not the city limits.

Either way where I live is in the 6-8 range of safest big cities which isn't bad. The least safe cities in North America were Baltimore, Detroit, and Atlanta. The first two were obvious to anyone who's been to those cities but Atlanta surprised me. I suppose they just have a crap police department and a bunch of poor people.

Not sure, but London is a good bet if murder has happened.

If you suspect any of your friends then best leave them well alone. Look at it this way, two people close to you have been killed, probably by the same person. Dont become the third. So just be very, very carefull until it blows over.

Thank you God! She's OK! She's alive! I've met her!

If fact, she's better than OK... she think she's pregnant! :

HOWEVER...

1) She is in fear of her life, and tells me someone wants her dead. She won't tell me more but she is keeping a very low profile.

2) All my pals are in the clear.

3) Someone with a very close resemblence to her did indeed turn up murdered the other day. Don't ask for details because I don't want to make people puke.

SO... mostly good news. Lots of other bits of rumours and speculation that I won't bother listing because I don't know if they are true.

Thanks to ALL posters for your help, suggestions and support. I really didn't know where else to turn!

I imagine if a body had every bone broken then it would be difficult to identify without using dental (assuming enough teeth left) or DNA which takes time.
