Browse Apolyton AD-FREE

(1) The fact that God has tried to stopp Korn is evidence of his fundamental benevolence.

or

(2) Some doofus has gone insane, but at least Korn might not make any records.

or

(3) Dimebag Darrell is dead - there is no justice.

Why the dislike of Korn?

I suppose once your've grown out of your teenage angst years its more applicable to listen to Metallica and the such that shoulda died years ago.

Good on Head. If hes happy believing in God then thats good for him. Korn will no doubt sound different in any future albums but hopefully they'll continue producing the same good stuff.

just once, I would like to see a guy in a christian rock band find satan.

Occasionally someone will accept an award and thank Satan, the humor is lost on many social conservatives who really think he's serious and express the usual outrage.

My only experience with Korn was their "appearance" on South Park. And one of my favorites was when Cartman saw the chance to make oodles of money and get a platinum for a Christian album.

Why the dislike of Korn?

My dad was a guitar teacher. He was quite open to new material his students liked (he really liked Metallica, for example), but he drew the line at Korn.

I still remember the look he used to get on his face at their mention.

Plenty of bitterness. It's impressive when the man makes more friends finding God and leaving Korn, than the other way around.

Korn has many good songs. Even after the first album. But sadly they only have a few good songs on each album, the rest suck.

But the first album, I love every single song. They were heavier, and less "rappy".

Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

I know the lead singer of Dark Angel (80's death/thrash metal band) left and went on to a christian band.

these are the lyrics of a dark angel song. I'm trying to figure out if they are pro or against religion. The song is called The New Priesthood.

History's shown you that answers can't be found above.
Life's great questions are tackled only by us.
Knowledge of mysteries that puzzle your learned men of the cloth.
We've explanations that men of God can't fathom.

Searching for your destiny
In a book that's not reality.
We solve the the Earth's problems
Through our science and technology.

Look back one thousand years when science was in its infancy.
The church had the word, the world was forced to heed.
How many times they led astray, their flock was shown no mercy.
"It's God's will," not good enough, minds were closed ignorantly.

We are here to shed the light,
And your "Savior" is powerless to fight.
You must realize that your theology is wrong
And we are right.
Accept it for it's proven,
And the truth is for all to see.
Scientifically we'll answer any question there could be.

(chorus)
Obviously you don't see that we've become your deities.
Can't you see that we are your new priesthood?
Blinded by your piety and impotent divinity,
Recoginize that we are your new priesthood!

Religious dogma that's confused and shackled you.
Searching through the good book not knowing what's the truth.
You're only innocent, raised servile and unaware.
Unconversant to what is really out there.

Humanity must be erudite but not only from books should it gain insight.
Through practice of sound philosophy comes cognizance of Man's own plight.
This you won't find in your church or your faith,
Though science has always attempted to explicate.

(chorus)
Obviously you don't see that we've become your deities.
Can't you see that we are your new priesthood?
Blinded by your piety and impotent divinity,
Recoginize that we are your new priesthood!

(lead-Gene)

(bridge)
Intelligence is lacking in your realm.
That is why we've come to take the helm.

As you have seen, you cannot turn to God for the solution.
Mankind has thrust himself into a sick position, lack of vision.
To those who blanket and surround themselves with gullibility,
There will be severity.
Yet again we will achieve the answers because we are more than God.

As you kneel and pray,
Genuflect our way.
Try and feel your way
Without our guidance someday.

History's shown you that answers can't be found above.
Life's great questions are tackled only by us.
Knowledge of mysteries that puzzle your learned men of the cloth.
We've explanations that men of God can't fathom.

Searching for your destiny
In a book that's not reality.
We have solved the the Earth's problems
Through our science and technology.
We see the things that you can't find in your faith.
We are in command with men like Hawking leading the way.

(chorus)
Obviously you don't see that we've become your deities.
Can't you see that we are your new priesthood?
Blinded by your piety and impotent divinity,
Recoginize that we are your new priesthood!

I could write a better justification of theism over that .

I think, without hearing it, that it's meant to be satirical... either that or written by Urban Ranger.

Nonetheless, atheism

Get a bigger avatar today!

That song forces its meter in innumerably sick ways. Even if it had a different message it would still suck for its pure failure of craft.

Tired of ads?

I don't think meter matters in death metal .

It's not one of their better songs anyways. It does have bad pacing as as song.
