Suffering from ads?

Just do it with her Ben. It's only a mortal sin and if you time it just before confession, you'll escape eternal damnation.

(Full disclosure: A Catholic told me about that "trick", although I can't imagine why he thought I'd have any use for it).

on a somewhat serious note... if a religion had a "trick" or "loophole" that allowed sin, it would leave me to believe that religion/denomination is full of ****.

Put an end to popups!

I was underthe impression that all relegions had loopholes as you call them. The idea is to adress the fact that you have sinned and ask for forgivness.

That leads me to the conclusion that all human religions are then, full of ****.

IMO, forgiveness is bullshit... if one is truly sorry and remorseful for an evil act, one would not commit said act in the first place. You take responsibility for your actions and live a good life. If there is a God and he forgives things like murder and whatnot just because someone has faith, then I wouldn't want to live in heaven with that God. Murderers should be punished, not forgiven. And the whole idea of forgiving anyone who accepts Jesus is the very reason Christianity is full of ****. A good and just God wouldn't accept evil into heaven.

so piss on Jesus and any other religion that allows such evil to be forgiven

It's not just black and white, there's a huge grey area where stuff could be forgiven... but not things like murder and rape. Those are black as night.... evil...

That leads me to an on-topic idea...

One thing that would make me really happy? Finding the one true religion/faith. And get rid of all the dead flesh that is false, human religion.

You dont need relegion to have faith. Believe you me Im not a practicing catholic anymore. I know the rules and the laws. But have had enough bad **** happen to me to question the aspects of god. Just beause you confess doesnt mean you are forgiven and welcomed into heaven most are taught. Their is no perfect relegion the perfection comes in the face of your beliefs as a person.

A worthy task.

quote:

A good and just God wouldn't accept evil into heaven.

Then who of us could enter? We have all sinned, and done evil. Without forgiveness, no one would enter heaven, because, it is as you say, why would God just accept evil into heaven?

However, you also miss this. It isn't that God waved his hand away to say that our sins were forgiven, rather, Christ had to die on the cross to atone for our sins, to serve the punishment that otherwise would have been meted on us. He chose to do so because he loves each and every one of us, even while we are sinners, he gave his life.

quote:

if one is truly sorry and remorseful for an evil act, one would not commit said act in the first place.

We are weak. Even if we are sorry, we fall into sin, and do wrong, hurting others and ourselves.

quote:

You take responsibility for your actions and live a good life.

What is the good, sava? What counts as a good life? According to Christ, none of us are living a good life, we are all steeped in sin. If we were to be held responsible for our acts, we would each be cast into hell.

quote:

If there is a God and he forgives things like murder and whatnot just because someone has faith, then I wouldn't want to live in heaven with that God.

evil is not in the action, but more in the person... someone can be evil and not sin... and likewise, one can sin and not be evil. BTW, I have probably a different idea of what evil is than you do.

I don't agree that we are all sinners. I also don't agree with Christianity's definition of sin. I don't think premarital sex is a sin. I don't think homosexuality is a sin. I don't think working on a sabbath day is a sin.... etc...
quote:

We are weak. Even if we are sorry, we fall into sin, and do wrong, hurting others and ourselves.
Speak for yourself. I am strong. I don't commit what I consider to be sins. I don't commit evil acts.
quote:

Also, I believe punishment from God would be just. Not just cast into the lake of fire for all "sinners". But a punishment that would fit the "crime" so to speak. Hence, Hitler's hell is a lot different than the hell I might go to because I stole a candy bar when I was 5.
quote:

Is murder the worst sin one can do?
I don't know, if a sniper just picked you off from long range, instantly killing you, that would be murder. But a quick, painless death is a lot better than getting severely raped and beaten, IMO. I believe the key to understanding the worst "sin" is all grounded in the amount of suffering one endures. BTW, I also don't believe that simply causing death is a sin. I do think that abortion, which causes death, and doctor assisted suicide for the terminally ill, are not sins. So it's more about suffering, IMO.

I was $10 short on rent. I've sold probably 200 cds in the past two months, so that's about $3000 worth of cds. I got maybe $370 for them, give or take. This week I sold about 110 cds, collecting $255. I've got 23 more to try and sell, I figure I'll probably get about $30 (cuz not all will sell.)

My once mighty cd collection is a shambles, but at least I ripped most of it. For some reason, I didn't rip the ones I sold before these last couple months.

Of course God is sending us to hell Ted.

Think of how our influence would wreck heaven.

Besides, I don't know about hell, but blowjobs are verboten in heaven, and that's a chance I ain't taking.

Azazel, it usually takes a foreigner to correct these bastards butchering the beautiful language.

What would make me happy today.. hmm.. Well, I would like a bath in hot water, a nice exotic drink and a new FHM magazine to read while in the bath. And a girl who can hold their breath for 10 minutes .
