That's an incorret assumption. Had he wanted to conquer Europe, he wouldn't have ordered the Greek and Italiam Communists to turn power over to the Allies, instead of holding on to it. He would have aided the Greek Communists in the civil war in the late 40s. Heck, he would have turned captured Japanese war materials over to the Chinese Red Army, instead of the Nationalists (not that this would have helped in Europe, but he was hardly intereaed in conquering the world, regardless of what real faults the bastard did have). Stalin wanted to be left alone to rebuild the USSR.
