The crazed flying nimrods swirling about the room seemed invisible to the others, yet hooted and glared ominously at me everytime I lit another cigarette. Screw it, I figured, there's no percentage in telling any of these other so-called writers about their imminent peril, as they are all so preoccupied with their own tortured souls that they could never see the pitfalls before them. So I just poured another martini and settled in for the duration of this hellride.
