German of course. English, well decide yourself. Latin and French très peux seulement.
And I could follow, if Spanish people wouldn't always talk that fast. That makes 2,5-3.

And is Banana no language or what?!

It's far easier than writing English, that's for sure. I mean, when you're writing German, at least you have a clue as to what sound it makes

Got spare money?

2 (english and french well enough to operate in either, though nobody will mistake me for a native french speaker)

I could also probably read a newspaper in Spanish and undertand it. Writing anything would be out of the question. It's been too long since high school.

I speak three languages fluently and can converse in two others for 'business purposes. I grew up bi lingual (Croatian/English). Learnt Indonesan/malay at uni and after uni did business french and shona courses because of work.

Having a slavic language under the belt also means I can understand a smattering of other slavic languages like russian.

Eh bien, c'est tres bon au l'Ouest Canada.

I'll claim 1.5. English, plus I can read french, write it fairly well, but I can't speak it at all. Very hard for me to hear.

Smatterings of Russian, Spanish, and German.

The question should be "how many languages are you fluent in?" not speak.

ACK!

couple things:

"au" is a contraction of "a le". saying "au l'Ouest" is ridiculous

also, you should probably say "pour" Western Canada instead of "a" western canada

finally, the way to say Western Canada is "l'Ouest du Canada"

And one would probably start of with "et alors" or "donc" and finish with "qua", one can't finish a sentence without it.

Not for me, i have a tendency to toss in a Hebrew word when speaking french, or vice versa, apparently both are stored in the same part of my brain. Of course im not very good in either, so that may account for it.

I once read a book by some linguist that emphasized using historical language relationships to make language learning easier - it was fascinating about the Scandinavian languages esp, also Dutch and German, and made me think learning a Scandinavian language wouldnt be too hard IF i took the time.

Also, oddly, I have a tendency to break into French on the rare occasions when I get drunk. Once i was with some guys from work and started babbling in mangled, school boy French. Quite embarrassing. But I spoke French better than I do sober, I think. Some loss of inhibitions, I think?

I have the same problem with German and Spanish.

I guess I have three language sections in my brain: English, French and everything else.
