And I donīt see why everyone is dissing pesto. Itīs a kick ass condiment on toast, grilled ciabatta or pasta.

Yeah, often one of the quick lunches I pack up for myself at work, pasta, pesto and a bit of cheese sprinkled on top...easily made in a hurry and just needs to be zapped in a microwave...

Yeah, I never understood why roommates wouldn't share simple things like milk. If you don't you end up with three or four of everything and the fridge isn't big enough to hold it. My roommates and I kept a common horde of the simple stuff and each shopping trip we'd just divy up the bill equally. It was easy enough and no one abused it by eating everything without pitching in some other way. All in all it worked well.

Just addicted to shopping in bulk at Costco.

I also tend to cook at home rather then eat out in order to save money. I guess I inherited a neurosis from my mother where I always have to keep my fridge full of food.

I canīt share milk, butter or marmalade and stuff with other people. Some people are just so sloppy and drinks out of the carton and uses dirty spoons and knives so that thereīs butter in the marmalade or liver paste in the butter (yuck!)

Dry goods are ok to share, small chance of contamination

The other fridge, where produce and some leftovers are stored. We usually throw out mystery food after a couple of weeks, it looked a lot worse a few days ago.

PH has never read his bible.

Ezekiel bread is traditional Jewish bread which supposedly Ezekiel lived off of for two years while in the desert. Its supposed to be nutrient complete (I don't believe that but that's what the nutters in the bible said) and is often used for fasting purposes.

Maybe we can get that Ezekiel bread to go with the mystery matsoball mix and potato pancake mix in my cabinet then we could have a traditional Hebrew meal.

Most of the food is communal, people label stuff that's their own. People at some of the other co-op houses have been known to hide goodies deep in the back of the fridge though.
