I was in this exact situation last year. It's the only time I would actually suggest going the dirty capitalist route- do your job, do it well, do it so well that they give you something more interesting to do.

As far as data-entry, been there and done that, hopefully never again - though it does leave you plenty of energy to enjoy your evenings with. You can do that job with 4 hours sleep in you and it is no hardship

whaleboy i feel your pain have the same trouble started a similiar job 3 weeks ago...but i do have internet access...no that this is helping YOU but i makes me feel a little bit better . but to get thru the day take 3 hour break with the hot girls/guys you are working with works for me

Well it's not that, it's just that I'm notoriously obsessive about which music I play... I have ~130 CD's plus about 5000 mp3's, it takes me like 10 minutes to decide which CD to bring to work... I'll look like a ***** if I have to start doing risk analyses of Velvet Revolver vs. Queen just before lunch.

I hate taking forever deciding what I want to listen to at work. Lately I've just been going in alphabetical order . Kind of boring as it doesn't account for the mood I'm in (and I actually force myself to listen to the CD's I have I felt were a mistake to buy).

Be careful though- when I did this job in January, we were so good that they ran out of work and let us go after 11 days.

But yeah, I know what you mean whaleboy, it's a stupidly boring job, and it's not like you can do anything like surfing the net or reading a book anyway, as supervisors are usually around to make sure they're getting their money's worth out of you. I spent my entire first week's wages on a great mp3 player which kept me sane in the last six days of the job

Failing that, try pyromania.
