For me its actually the opposite.
I often do not participate in threads online even though I feel the urge, while I rarely miss an occasion IRL, just because it feels more like a waste of time online, since you are discussing with parodies of people most of the time...

I know many people here with which its impossible to have a decent argument on Poly, but Im sure it would be way different IRL.

Yes it sucks when even anonyminity, I still have social anxiety. This is why I'm not much one for real time chat rooms. I can never think of anything to say fast enough (though some can argue I don't have anything meaningful to say here either).

Having met Mike a few times, I can confirm that he's got a tendency to say stuff with such earnest, furrow-browed intensity that it's not until several days later you realise that he was taking the piss on a heroic scale.
