Well, I enjoy it. It's hard to lose (you just have to pay attention and make sure you're not underprepared as far as fighting pirates are concerned) and the overall theme is catchy. It's nothing more than FedEx (go fetch that package, bring it back) gaming, and there's nothing wrong with that for a few weeks/months.

How do I get this game to work? When I click on 'play game' it trys to load, then the speakers make a bonk noise, then nothing! Back to the original game screen asking if I want to play the game.

20 bucks could have bought you Morrowind GOTY, KOTOR, BG2, or a number of other Platinum Hits on Xbox.

Yeah, what JohnT said, it's nothing spectacular, but it's a nice game with a good flow that will last for a couple of days. It's entertaining. The missions the governors send you on are hilarious.

The thing I like is that it's easy to learn so you're up and running in no time, and it's not too complicated.

It has good characterization.

The sound effects are good, the graphics are crisp, and the background music puts you in a feel good mood.

Pirates should be renamed "Dancing with Daughters" since that's the quickest way to max out on all the points at the top levels.

The evil Spaniard guys can't fight for **** (board Montalban's 250 crew flag Galleon with 20-30 men and take the ship with few losses on even the highest level.) But instead of the "Cotton Sails" add-on, they have the twin screw quad GE LM2500 option that lets them make sudden 60 degree turns into the wind in virtually zero distance and with zero speed.

Indian war canoes have an Evinrude outboard option so they can go 20 knots on a beam reach. I've seen them go 14 knots on a 2 knot breeze.

Sid and crew have never sailed a real ship of any size, ever. Its fun to play turning radius tag with two reefed frigates, turning on a central axis like a couple of 12 meter boats jockeying for starting position.

The main character looks like a dork, and the graphic sequences and music are repetitive drivel.

Trade is dirt simple, and not worth enough to waste time over unless you nail a treasure ship close to a wealthy port you wanted to go to anyway.

Other than that, it's more or less OK.
