I'll say this: It makes as much sense as gun control. To the better or to the worse.

Actually, I love stabbing things with my pointy knives, but I agree it's not essential to the cooking.

Yes, but you end up creating less than optimal pieces for eating when chopping up lobsters and crabs. In addition, you end up splintering the bones when cutting birds (like chicken, ducks, geese, etc.).

Yes, but your post implied it was the government behind this call. It wasn't, for once.

The gun laws are there to prevent the same people who stick knives in each other to settle simple domestic arguments from buying handguns and doing the same thing, but at a distance.

In case you hadn't noticed, they work- which is partly why Liverpool doesn't resemble Baltimore.

there are more differences between Liverpool and Baltimore than just gun.

actually it should be noted that knives are already restricted. At least in the U.S.

There are restriction on carrying knives over 4 inches in length for instance. Those are illegal. You can't have switch blades, and I believe balisongs (butterfly knives) are also illegal.

So why is it we restrict carrying knives over 4 inches in length in public, but it's perfectly okay to have them in your home?

Knife control? **** that, I want my knives. Just make everyone else wear goddamned armor if you're that cowardly.

Put an end to popups!

although one must consider the impact this will have on the horror movie genre. If the woman in distress can't pick up a big kitchen knife in the movie, what impact will this have?

Thats knifes, but what about forks ? I have a nice steak fork wich certainly could be a deadly weapon, but if it was blunt, I couldn't use it.

I don't mind restrictions on pocket knifes and banning guns, but to extend it to kitchen tools is a liitle far out.

Of course, we could also have a society where anything that cannot be eaten with a spoon is banned.

The mods allow babe threads here, don't they?

So why can't you share other stories such as the one you already mentioned without going into every gory detail?

Yeah, one's a decaying seaport with an industrial hinterland, and one's a decaying seaport with an industrial hinterland.

One has an ethnic/racial divide, and one has an ethnic/racial divide.

One is on the North Atlantic and one is on the North Atlantic.

One has areas of deprivation and under-investment and one has ....

Well, you get the drift.

Avatar Enlargement: We've got the solution

actually I just read in the paper that it's knives longer than 3 inches that are banned in my city.

A guy was just charged with this crime after killing another dog with a knife (because the dog was killing his dog).

it's kind of unbelievable you can't carry a knive, but a gun is okay.

You can't carry knives of a certain length concealed. If you carry them on your belt in plain site you can walk around with a bowie knife if you please.
