I'll give you one reason why I think my opinion holds some water in these OS pissing contests. Unlike you and Asher, I'm the only one I know of who's running three major OSes concurrently in a mixed environment, networked, talking, and all happy with each other. While you're in the tiny, limited, but ornate Swiss-like MacLand, and Asher's a sprawling and common but powerful US-like WinLand, I'm a mother****in' melting pot.

Um how? Please find me a post where I made a big deal over which chips Apple uses. I've never cared that much about it, since I've made it pretty clear that I care about the software, whatever it runs on.

Mr Nice Guy used to post threads about the PowerPC vs Intel. Perhaps you are thinking of him.

And I've always been lazy. I resent the implication that this is a recent phenomenon. If a debate looks like being interesting I will post more to it, if it is just more of the same old same old, it's just boring and not worth the effort. Same reason I don't bother with the Libertarian threads any more.

Really? You'd extend the usable life of your current machine by plugging in 256 more. You'd be surprised at the performance boost.

OR it is a photo taken from way up hi of an area of the world but strangly tilted then the upper right corner would show the horizon and clouds

It's actually a picture of the Colorado river (and associated lakes)

It's taken "upside down" so south is up, north is down. West is to the right and east is to the left.

It shows: Lake Powell, grand canyon, humphyrs peak, the forests surrounding grand canyon, lake mead, lake mohave, lake havasue, salton sea, lots of the mohave desert, and lastly but most important: the city where I live- Las Vegas. Las Vegas is on the far right of the map to the right (and slightly down) from the big lake (not the round lake in the upper right- that's the salton sea, but the lake with 3 "arms"). You'll see the green from all the trees planted in the desert.
