If you think runing a tiny forum like Eventis is even remotely comparable to running the full-fledged behemoth of a website that is Apolyton, you truly have no clue about Apolyton's size or breadth of coverage. I think that IF the owners ever wanted to quit and hand over the site to someone else, they would most likely hand it over to the existing staff. Our combined knowledge covers most aspects of running the site, and of course many of us have been doing it for years. Mind you, the transition would still be huge and seriously challenge the survival capabilities of this site, but it'd be an infinitely easier transition than handing it over to outsiders...

What??? Not succesfull!?!

The site has now been "up" for a bit more than a year and we already have 100 registered members (50% of them are DLs though, and 50% of the non-DL members almost never posts there)... but apart from that, Eventis is a very successfull site

I know that there's a huge difference in scale between Eventis and Apolyton...and perhaps there are better examples, but my point is that there are people that are willing and capable in our membership roles to continue Apolyton in a worse case scenario.

of course, the most desirable future scenario is the current ownership staying with this successful site for many, many years.
