I only use the cell phone for short reminder calls ("Did you? Are you? Don't... Remember to... Can you..." like Space) or when I need to meet up with someone. I don't understand how chicks can spend like hours on those damn things. I don't think I've ever talked on a cell phone for more than five minutes at one time.

My other use for it is to play Snake. Great game.

yeah snake rules. I played the old version on an old Nokia phone I had 4 years ago. But I suck at it compared to most people. I used to think my scores were pretty good too.

But my crappy Nokia phone now doesn't have snake . The only game that looks interesting is bowling. But I suck at it. The instructions are useless. My ball still ends up going into the gutter half the time.

One to two calls a week.
5 to 10 text messages a day.
Phone only gets turned off in places like hospitals, other than that, it's on silent when discretion is required.

It's "deuce", Diss. As in "Little Deuce Coup." Think of it as: "Revved up like a car, another runner in the night."

I have my phone on vibrate as a matter of course - it's probably been over a year since I heard my cell phone ring.

I have a Samsung SPH-a740 camera phone. It's pretty much my primary phone now, though we keep the landline 'cause it makes the wife feel better.

I don't use text messaging, have never bothered using the web/data services other than when I got the thing and wanted to try it out. Sophie loves for me to take pictures of her and show them on the screen.

I was stunned to find out that you're charged for ringtones - who the hell in their right mind would pay $2.99 for the 3-month "right" to have a music clip as their ringtone?

I only have a cellphone because landlines are ridiculously expensive over here if you rarely use them. I mostly use my phone as a landline: it's always on but almost always connected to the adapter (so effectively it isn't even cordless most of the time). I rarely take it with me when I go out, only when I'll be with other people in crowded places where it's easy to lose sight of each other, or when I expect I might be delayed on my way to a meeting (e.g. when traveling by public transport and having multiple connections).

I don't use any extra features like messaging, photography, etc -- in fact, I bought the cheapest phone on the market and doubt it supports most of those features.

IMO phones are usually intrusive and unpleasant to use, so I avoid them whenever possible. I prefer either email/IM or meeting people in person.

Well, my landline (with 300 long-distance minutes/month), cable internet, and digital cable TV (500 channels and nothing is on!), all cost $129/month in total.

Hah! I only pay about €60 for the same services (minus the landline of course, and I think I 'only' have 90 channels or so, but it's not like I'm waiting for more Armenian or Uzbek channels )

I carry my cellphone most of the time but turn it off when I get home in the evening. I also turn it off in meetings, restaurants and movies. 90% of my calls are to and from my wife to coordinate with each other.

As for during sex, a ringing phone wouldn't distract me that much although if you are wanting a longer peaceful romantic evening, its better to just autoforward calls or turn off the ringer or something.

WE still have a landline, mainly for the very very cheap long distance. Since all of our family and some of our friends are a continent away, we make a lot of long distance calls. It might work out slightly cheaper overall if we ditched the landline, but it wouldn't be significant

We turn the cell phone off BEFORE we have sex with someone. DUH!

Just excuse yourself from the person for a minute, or if you already have your cell phone on hand, take the 15 seconds to turn it off right there, then go at it with the guy.

About once a week at minimum, more when I was working remotely from my boss, and would have to have it on during normal working hours.

I use my phone as a landline, since I found it rather a bother to pay for a landline installation whenever I moved.

I don't have hardline (at home) - only a cellular.
I also don't have hardline at work either - only a cellular there too

They both are of the very basic model - no cameras, no colourful screens, no mp3-players... but they are frigging telephones! Not some freakin' entertainment nexuses.

If I want to listen to music, I put a cd on my cd-player. If I want to take a picture, bring on the camera. sheesh

My only "strange" cell phone habit is that I actually use it as a phone - and that's it. I never text anyone, play any games on it or surf the web. Mine can't take pictures, which I don't want anyway 'cause I'd never use it for that either. It doesn't play a crap sounding version of some 70's song when someone calls, it just has a basic electronic "ring".

I only use mine for actual calls, too. I don't pay extra for Internet access via my cell phone, although I have that capability if I want to.

not that I'm qualified to answer, but I would suspect you turn the phone off before things start to heat up. You know; after a date when you bring a girl inside your place. That's the time to turn the phone off. Not when you are unwrapping the condom package.

I should note that I used to always carry a cell phone, and I used it in lieu of a lan line. but that didn't work out so well because of the crappy reception where I live. I just grew so frustrated I got rid of my cell phone. I'm never paying for another one again (again my work requires I use one, but I don't pay for that).

Even when I was on my cell phone trying to order local lan line phone service, my connection was lost and I couldn't even order anything. I had to use a real phone at work to order lan service at home just so I can talk on the phone.

I've tried both AT&T and Cingular (now they are the same company), both are crap.

**** cell phones. . Why should I pay more money for something that doesn't work. They keep adding all these stupid features like text messaging, cameras, ringtones. But they can't make the phone do what it is supposed to. talk to other human beings.

No habits my personal cell is use for business to. Working agency nursing the agency calls me with the next days job. As far as personnal use i only have it for emergency purposes such as my kids needing to talk to me. Its not that important in my life but rather for the jobs i get and my kids. Most of the time it sits in another room or in my purse. I do carry a pager for the same reason but when its on me it is on vibrate and dont bother anyone and i call back if i need to or want to. As far as during sex the ringing phone is not a bother and neither it nor the pager is answered till after

In Austria, at least with a certain provider, you get an SMS when you turn back on your cell phone. "You missed 3 calles from 2 numbers..."

Anyway, I've got 2 cell phones, a discount provider one which is extremely cheap and works well, and another one I only have so my g/f and family who all have another provider can call me.

I've both phones on vibro, so I can keep them on almost everywhere.

I absolutely do not use cell phones in public transport (I hate having to listen to the most profane things of others I have absolutely no interest in), while driving (cell phone drivers are not much above drunk drivers in my opinon) and in most public places (during lectures etc.)
I try to limit calls to the absolute necessary when meeting with other people face to face - I hate it when I meet a friend for a coffee, we have maybe half an hour and the other person uses 10 mins. of that little time because his g/f called...
