Actually, I like how that photo turned out.

The crystal-clear white cards against the black background is cool...

Tired of ads?

That's one neat thing about digicams: they don't overexpose if the foreground is close during a flash. They collect until reaching the predetermined level in the brightest section, then stop.

Middle unsuited connectors are a beautiful starting hand to play in NL HE if you're at a table filled with pussies who don't raise preflop.

I've won more money with them than with any other type of hand.

obviously suited is better, but it appears only 1 time for every 3 times you get unsuited...

You get 2 aces once every 221 hands

You get direct connectors once every ~6.5 hands

You do the math...

no-limit hold 'em

My favourite. It's so simple, and yet people play it so badly.

2 running cards. 45, 910, JQ

They give you lots of strong straight draws (which you can semibluff with), they occasionally give you 2 pair, etc.

2 suited connectors are a goregeous hand if the action isn't too heavy preflop.

Then you can also get flush draws. And they're so easy to get away from if you miss completely.

When you lose, you lose small. When you win, you win big.

two in the hole, 5 for the community, make the best 5 card hand

betting occurs:

on the two hole cards (preflop)
on the first three community cards (flop)
on the 4th community card (turn)
on the 5th community card (river)

no limit means just what it says. you can bet up to everything you have in front of you at any time

Suffering from ads?

You all use the same 5 'community' cards to make your hands with, or you each get 5 cards for your own?

community cards are for the community. Everybody uses them. The difference lies in the two hole cards. You can use both your hole cards, one of them or neither of them (if you're using neither of them you might want to consider why you're still in the hand, though)

It's like 7 card stud except that:

1) the final card is turned face up
2) the five face up cards are common to everybody instead of being different for each individual
3) the betting structure is slightly different

Sounds like a very strange way to play poker. However, people have an inexhaustible desire to gamble away their money. I suppose you like that feature.

HE: requires less memorisation of cards than 7-stud, is based less on luck (though obviously it's still present), and due to the shared nature of most of the cards often presents situations where one player is a drastic favourite over another

It's the brand of poker with the most strategic thought required to play well, imo.

The rules are simple, there is a lot of information available and good players more easily dominate weaker players.
