Thanks for all the replies guys,
I think I might break out CtPII having never tried it before. I've heard the vanilla game wasn't good but the players made it fantastic with their mods. Which mod would you suggest, is ages of man the best?

Yeah it is. More of an expansion than just a mod of existing material.

Is it worth the time to reinstall and set up AoM, or should I just stick with Civ3 for these last few months?

AoM appears to focus on the Dark Ages and Middle Ages a bit too much.
