This is partially why I detest that team and pray for their downfall this time around.

I'm sorry Aro, but I can't make out what the conversation exactly means or even who is speaking to whom. Just let me know if you feel that the answer given is legit as to where they got your email address from.

From what I understand from what you said, you have not posted your email address outside of Apolyton's C3CISDG Forum (This forum). So, if that is true, how did they get your email address? Is it because your address was tied to the rockbandit mailing list and they somehow can see everyone who is on that mailing list?

Got spare money?

They sent the save to APO, and it returned three "mail delivery failure". In the header of those returned messages, usually you can find the adress with problems. In this case, my adress (was a temporary problem).
Well, they did nothing wrong, but we have a little problem here. When they emailed the save to us, who received it?
Probabily he just forwarded the message (with the save) to all of us, and if one of the recipients has a problem and the message can't be delivered, it comes back to original sender... The guys at CivBrazil. In fact, I didn't received the save.

Pggar is a admin in the Brazilian site, and someone important in their team. The other guy, Krasan, also have a high status there.. He's the one who send the saves to the next player (us).

Did I make myself a little more clear?

It's a hole for anyone wanting to keep their address from CBR should it bounce, but it's not like they can read anyone's mail with this. So it's a problem for anyone who has a problem with their mail bouncing back to CBR in case of failure, but it shouldn't affect Apolytonian security.

Yes, very clear. Thanks.

I agree with Kloreep; no security threat at all.

It is a bit weird that WB's server would give them any email addresses on the forwarding list he has for that address. I guess it all depends on how he has it set up; something that I do not have a clue about. I guess WB would have to explain it to me. :/

The from addy is the one from Brazil, not wb's. If there is a problem, it generates a message back to that addy.

Not any e-mail addresses, just ones that bounce.

I've seen the same thing happen in the MZODG, where I send to another rockbandit list; someone must have closed their account there because one particular address kept bouncing back to me. I don't, however, know what the other addresses on the list are because they never bounced.

I guess I don't understand how WB's mail server works then. I thought his server just "forwards" all email recieved to the rockbandit address he has given to us for this game, to a list of email addresses contained on on his email server.

I did not know that when someone sends an email to the rockbandit address that the sender is actually sending to each and everyone of the addresses in the list. Or, is it that the rockbandit server is the server providing the information about which email addresses "bounced" from a given address and then reports that info back to the original sender?

It's the second thing. The rockbandit server is sending the messages, but when a message bounces it does so back to the sender rather than the rockbandit server.

Kloreep has it exactly right. My email server is acting as a third party and forwarding on the emails. Anything that bounces though goes BACK to the original sender (like a normal email message).

Hence, they got Aro's email because there was a bounce. I actually have no way to see these errors (unless I email the list and experience the same myself). Definitely keep me informed if anything else comes up.
