Horribly!!

At that point I didn't think there were many options left so I was going with Dopey which in hindsight might not have been the only option, but was appropriate for (as DrSpike has said it) someone with my limited vocabulary.

Are there other options that I wasn't thinking of? (It seems ironic that if I had guessed Y instead of P in that case I would have likely led to someone else guessing the word correctly ).

Dopey is an informal word as your dictionary clearly states (slang). We agreed to stop using those. Rules were supposed to be edited in that respect.

Dictionary.com has two entries, one indicating slang and one not, for dopey. I think Dopey would be marginally acceptable, particularly considering other words used in this thread

And it's okay to make a mistake once in a while. This is a forum game with no monetary reward... although if I overtake Spike (currently on target to surpass him in Hangman 205) I expect a significant party in my honor
