So, just before I did my last push on Santiago she had the nerve to call a governor vote on me. I guess she didn't like the fact that the representative of Planet was wiping out her bases and capturing her well-trained Spartan Warriors.

Domai was the good lapdog that he is and supplied his votes toward me. Aki apparently didn't like the fact that I took over her capital, but she had the wisdom of establishing an outpost base. Regardless, she voted against me. Lal, my nemesis, was clearly my opponent and relished in the thought of becoming governor.

Until I dropped the Hive's votes for myself. He wasn't very happy and reminded the good Chairman that he was still in Vendetta against me.

I shrugged. But breathed a sigh of relief at how close I came to losing power.

My victory over the Spartan Federation is complete. (unfortunately I got a bit overzealous and forgot to take a pic at the right time).

I basically just did one big invasion with my leftover units. My protective missile foils were used to take over the sea bases, and the good Chairman's benevolent rule spread across the militant Spartans.

Santiago held out in her last remaining base, threatening me to agree to a Blood Truce but the Chairman ignored her. She offered to surrender to me, but the good Chairman figured that since he would be taking over her last base anyway, the good Chairman Yang squashed her and now Colonel Santiago is a permanent resident of the Hive...

....enjoying our grand accomodations and luxurious foods.

Nice invasion

I am currently playtesting a scenario for Darsnan (should be released in the fall) where as the cyborgs I am teamed with the Gaians and PK and get to take on the uni and Hive and caretakers. It is 2213 and I have just chopdropped in on the Hiverian homelands taking revenge in my alternate reality for the Hiverian crimes in this one.

AS Aki I say to the Hive-- "I shall smite thee with every possible tachyon bolt from my elite chopers"

I LOVE killing the Hive ( but then again I also love being the Hive)-- I only wish the AI were smart enough to use all the advantages it gets given

Oh, heh heh, I added those in. I usually paste in Paint with SMAC still running-save to jpeg-then close SMAC.....then I'll modify the pic after.

Yes, it's the PK's. I've been in Vendetta with them while I was invading the Spartans. I took over 3 of their bases (2 sea bases). The one land one I took over, they stole back with a mind probe! Those bastards!

You could gift Nerve Gas to submissives or others who wouldn't be threatening even with it. That way, when you want to commit atrocities, your targets have probably committed atrocities themselves, and you have better odds of repealing the charter.

He'd repeal the Charter, I think - he'd set up a healthy propaganda machine to convince everyone that repealing the Charter is the logical, efficient thing to do, implying that anyone who thinks otherwise is being warped by the crass demands of flesh and bone and will soon be relieved of both.

I can't see a reason that Yang wouldn't repeal the Charter if he could without too much trouble. But if he couldn't repeal, he'd still blow the enemies of the Hive into a cloud of charged particles. Pragmatic and emotionless and ruthless are the three watchwords of a true Yang disciple.

Yep try and repeal the charter to show the Chairmans true wisdom and help destroy yet more of the UN and if people disagree they are misguided and you should carry on as if it were repealed. Remember if anybody disagrees with you, they are wrong.

Oh ho ho, have I got a tale to tell you.

So, I was gearing for my final assault on Lal with my newly developd Hive choppers, my Hive AirForce, and troop transports.

But at the same time, I was having my Hive navy (mostly shard and fusion foils) enter into University seabases...I figured at this stage on Planet with most of the surface covered with Hive bases, Yang would decide to do a final purge. About a dozen or so University sea bases were surrounded by Hive ships when that bastard Zak decided to do a surprise attack!

HE BEAT ME TO IT!!!

Fortunately, his attack was pathetic and seeing as how I was already gearing to wipe him out, most of his bases were taken over.

Unfortunately, I've had to pledge truce with Lal (but I'm sure Yang would just buster him anyway). So now I'm presently at "peace" with Lal and I'm slowly wiping Zak off the face of Planet.

I'll post some pics ASAP of my conquests. Unfortunately, it's been only a few times in my SMAC/X history that I've ever been sneak attacked, so I was pretty pissed and went crazy...most of his bases are under my control except his mainland...

.....which happens to be right next to Lal's mainland.

That's what I'm thinking. Political maneuvering and cunning while at the same time planning for alternative means to an end.

Yes, what I think the Chairman would do is use Lal's UN for Yang's own advantage. It's basically a Hive vs. Zak-Lal-Cyborg triad (although I've brokered a peace treaty with Lal to fool him. )




Here's a late screenie of Zak's betrayal. As you can see, his capital has fallen to Hive troops. Although I focused most of Hive forces at peripheral bases and worked my way inward...basically closing the noose around Zakharov. Then, I decided to cut the Uni mainland in two zones, then harass one end with planes and choppers and the other end I plan on landing troops.

Two "Fist of the Chairman" missiles are currently parked in a former UN-controlled seabase, ready to launch at the former governor.

I have 3 more Fists ready (enough to make a hand, I might add) and plan on making my attack when they are ready.

I'll post Lal's bases so you see what he looks like. I have one UN-base parked right off his shores that wll probably be caught in the blast. Would the Chairman waste this base in order for his attack to succeed?



(Oh yeah, in the pic I circled that one base. It says "Song of Ota Kyi". Zak destroyed my mindworm unit...never had that happen to me before...)

And on that PLanet, WHO exactly is left to fight with? If I am reading the map right he is finishing off his second-last opponent and now controls over 80% of the map.
