Heresson, No Dis shouldn't be ashamed of himsef, and it WAS funny, you just are too sensitive for that type of a joke being Catholic and taking it kidn of seriously like rock throwing world series. The fact is, you don't have the right to be not offended. Little babies with your attitude will get offended from what I had for breakfast. I had virgin boys, oh that's just a muffin but that's what they are called. I had to confess.. I shouldn't take that much calories right from the get go.. but they were so little and innocent looking..

Jesus/God doesn't need defending. You think you can defend them? So what are you going to do, they can defend themselves just fine.

As for getting offended, so what. People get offended.

This is nothing personal or attack on you. I'm saying, to be able to laugh it out even if you don't consider it funny, and even insulting, well.. that just means you truly are a strong hearted and willed man. The biggest denomination does not need to be defended. Period.

Or the power is only an illusion or statistics. You choose. But you just made them weaker. Ha-ha!

I thought he was a paedophile . Wasn't he married to a 13 year old? Though the 13 year old was okay (by standards back in those days). But I thought he was also married to an 9 year old girl. That's not okay no matter what age you are in.

I believe he has every right to be offended. BTW I like Dis and I don't think he did it out of viciousness, it was just a joke. But I can also see Heresson not liking it one bit. And Dis is kick ass for saying hey it was a joke but sorry if it offended you

The types I can't stand are those of the boris variety instructing someone not to get offended because he shouldn't be offended. That's just sleazy. bliach.

Dis, that's right, 9 year old is not OK no matter where, when or how.

Anyway what I'm saying is that which oen is worse. Jokes with bad taste banned, or jokes with bad taste OK

I say freedom baby Because there always will be someone being insulted. That is if it's in some sort of reason. REligion != person, so it's

yeah there is a happy medium here.

There will be times I will go over the line. But I try not to let my pride or ego get in the way of apoligizing. If I have offended someone I will usually say I'm sorry (unless I forget or I don't know I've offended someone and left the thread forever, or the person is being an ass towards myself ).

While it is unreasonable to say somoene shouldn't get offended, some people do get offended easily. but that is just their nature. Nothing wrong with that.

I don't get offended, but I do get upset when people continously bash on mormons. but I enjoy a good polygamy joke .

Actually He got married to her (for political reasons, though) when she was 6 or 7, but started sleeping with her when she was several years older. She's been his favourite wife and actually I don't think she was unhappy.
From modern-day point of view he did engage in paedophilic acts, the same as a lot of other historical figures. The only possible difference is that Muhammad's sexual life is of some relevance to modern-day world,
and such accusations have SOME basis, unlike depicting 1,1 billion people as paedophiles because of several priests.

Is there anything as bashed here as catholicism but (catholic in some sense) France?
If I made a joke about all Jews/Muslims/Hindus being pig ****ers/murderers/whatever, I'm sure I'd be bashed to death. But to offend Christianity, and especially catholicism, it is part of Apolyton's bon ton.
And I hate that. Again, before engaging in discussions I liked to bash RCC as well. But I've seen this board, I've seen how does it end in some states of western Europe. You're stabbing your own culture to death.

But enough of that. Let us return to the aim of this thread.

"God will "defend" Himself at the Ordeal. But by "defending" Him here, by convincing You not to offend Him, I'm sparing You from His wrath."

The problem is, I never did offend God. Puhlease.. nothing I say could never hurt him. And I never offended God by purpose, if I did it was an accident and that's ok. So why don't you spare your time and stop sparing everyone else.
You're doing no good anyway. Those who offend, won't stop. .This is Apolyton. The center of sin. The center of what the mankind knows the other side of the limit, where man steps in, he can never get back.

Full PM-box? Change here!

Still haven't gotten into the whole music download thing, so I have to imagine my cd collection to do this (I'm at work). I think it breaks down as follows:

35% - pop/rock/alternative
30% - jazz
10% - blues
10% - classical and modern orchestral
5% - movie soundtracks
5% - musical cast albums
5% - yuppie country (Lyle Lovett, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Lucinda Williams, k.d. lang -- but also Johhny Cash)

Feel free to make me a chart...

Well, that just goes to show you're clueless as to what the point was. I didn't say he shouldn't be offended, I expressed that I was tired of him being a sanctimonious school marm who goes to great lengths to "shame" those who have offended him. It's comments like "you failed to earn my respect" and "you should be ashamed of yourself" that make my eyes roll into the back of my head. He's not our dad.
