A same-party congress that he put in place, I might add. Remember that a president is supposed to lose ground in the Senate at each election. But Bush has gained ground every time.

I doubt the Democratic party can take much more of this "success" of theirs.

Think how stupid Kerry has to feel every time his peers call Bush a Moron.

But at least he married money so he gets credit for that.

That's a good comparison with Clinton. Clinton couldn't keep his congress together. Bush has done better than keep his majority together -- he has gained ground.

And yet it's taken him four years to get his "energy" bill passed, social secruity deform is dead in the water, and he's floundering around like a retard in a pond.

A floundering second-term president wouldn't be signing bill after bill in August. Certainly, I cannot recall a second-term president who has done so. Can you?

So this is the question that it's important for you lot to answer. Who was the last second-term president who was able to sign into law a good portion of his second term agenda? FDR?

The upcoming election will be the 4th national election in which Bush is involved. The 2-year elections (especially the Senate elections) are very important in testing the mettle of a president.

I thought DanS would be astute enough to recognize America didn't vote Republican in support of corporate-pork laden energy policies or any other piece of filth legistlation they've managed to pass.

They voted Republican because they don't like boys kissing boys... because 9-11 was being thrown into every discussion... and because Satan has given Karl Rove exceptional political skills.

If the Republicans laid out their true agenda in plain English to the American public, they'd go the way of the Whigs.

say a vast majority really are displeased with Bush, the house, and the senate. Does this mean a shift to the left, or a shift to an even more conservative right?

History dictates that Bush will give up huge ground. On the other hand, Bush has bucked history in the last 2 election cycles.

I find it interesting that the primary arguments against DanS are that he drinks Bush cool-aid and that he must be smoking mushrooms.

None of them address his arguments.

I find it especially interesting that Carter is listed among the two-term presidents.

Carter isn't listed among two-term presidents. He's listed among presidents with low approval ratings. In a separate sentence, Nixon is listed as a two term president.

If you're going to criticize people's arguments, you probably shouldn't put your own poor reading comprehension skills on display in the very same post.

No, we're fiscally responsible. Check out the last 25 years:

Reagan: First term: More deficit spending that all other U.S. Presidents, combined.
Reagan: Second term: Still larger deficits.
Bush the Elder: Unable to Balance Budget
Clinton: Balanced budget
Bush the Younger: Larger deficits than Reagan.

You do seem to forget (memory loss being a common side effect of heavy drinking/drug use) that Bush also managed to lose a same-party congress, without even having an election to blame for it -- by treating GOP moderates so badly that Jeffords bolted party. Yes, the man is truly a master politician.

El wrongo. The vote that passed the deficit-reducing budget was 50-50 in the Senate, with the GOP refusing to support it. Gore cast the tie-breaking vote.

The notion that the GOP somehow enforced fiscal discipline is laughable, since the GOP congress hasn't been doing any such thing under a GOP president.

oh silly BK...

you of all people should recognize this

it's like the "debates" against creationists

there really is no debate

one side has all the facts

the other side is full of ****

and plus, why should we waste our time formulating coherent arguments when

A: they're not necessary, because smart people already know we are right

B: we won't change the morons' minds

C: its more fun to question someone's state of mind when they believe in such ridiculous things
