Why wouldn't it count?

If it doesn't count our little guy probably sees less than an hour a day of tv-- FIVE hours?:? WOW-- I can't imagine our son seeing 5 hours on any single day ever at his age but to average that ??? Thats a lot of TV

Good plan for longer trips but a lot of our car trips are to and from on the same day. Our guy does get his naps often while riding but not always and thats where the video comes in.

Our little girl has excellent manners, very few temper tantrums, is pretty good about directions (and pushing limits, it's part of the job description - toddler ).

Sounds just like my son. I particularly like when he doesn't want to go somewhere and he stands there with his arms crossed -- but he is very good on his please and thankyous.

Bad idea bad idea-- once she knows how to do something she will decide to do it when Daddy is away. Next she will decide to reformat your hard drive in interesting ways

How old is your little one-- my guy is 27 months??

She was born in March so she is, let's see take off shoes - 29 months, almost 30. She loves to go out, so we don't have that problem, it's instead taking what is permitted, and then seeing what activity she can shoehorn from that onto the approved list. Like being in the kitchen helping daddy stir-fry, can we get that red Jalapeno deliberately left in grabby range and taste it? After daddy warned her it's a really bad idea. My wife and I subscribe to the doctrine of natural consequences as long as it does no permanent damage.

She is already very good at holding things for daddy and watching very intently what daddy is doing. It's funny, she is actually very good about the computers, though she finds the back panels fascinating. She is getting pretty good at understanding clockwise and counter-clockwise - reference computer screws, that is.

our problem is getting him to go out-- the "somewhere" he doesn't want to go is usually back inside

Thankfully he cannot access the back of the computer but he does know how most electronics work. He frequently puts a cd into his little boom box and then hits the buttons to get to the song he want

We don't let her handle CD's yet. Her problem is that she REALLY wants to poke around the innards of anything she can get her little hands in - and because they ARE little hands, that includes alot. Plus, she has discovered poking - as in get something long and thin and poke it into holes. So far I think I have her attention over wall sockets - and I have them covered just in case with those plastic thingies. I don't believe a CD or tape player would survive very long.

I typically have at least one machine off network, so to speak, and our house is small enough that we have a joint family/computer room. I don't mind her examining the back panel, but the utter fascination she has with it I find both reassuring - and a concern. As the parent of a toddler, I suspect you understand.
