GO GO GO!

aight, back on page 1, I told you guys about the mouse Morris discovered, well today, he started acting all weird again, like there was another mouse. Well today, he was focused intently on the area by the monitor on the floor in my room again. Later in the evening, he was hanging around in my parent's room. Which is strange because that is Mickey's territory and Mickey usually beats the crap out of him if he goes in there. So my mom, who is laying in bed, asks me to check behind her dresser. I grab my flashlight, and sure enough, I see a little furry devil behind the dresser, calmly sitting, staring back at Morris, who is patiently waiting at the end of the dresser. So my dad and mom are sitting on the bed with the other two cats. Morris is on the floor at the end of the dresser. I closed the doors to the room, closet and bathroom, etc. I moved the dresser away from the wall just enough for Morris to run behind it.
Sure enough, he darts behind it and the mouse goes runny for his life towards the bed. My mom screams, scaring the other cats, Mali gets scared, but sees the mouse and takes off after it. Morris chases it to one end of the bed, Mali to the other end. My dad starts laughing hysterically. And Mickey, the old cat, barely wakes up.
The two orange cats are on either side of the bed at the head with the mouse trapped behind it. Mali knows it's back there, Morris doesn't seem to. I turn Morris's attention to it, but he starts to get annoyed at me. I prod him behind the bed, but he doesn't seem to be able to find the mouse. Soon enough, with the two orangees being in such close proximity of each other, hissing starts. I look behind the bed, I can't see the mouse. Now the bed is a weird construction. There's not really an "under the bed" area. There's sort of a wall going along the entire perimeter of the bed, so nothing can get under it. The mouse didn't get out of the room and it didn't get past the cats. And there's no way the cats ate it whole, so wtf happened to it?
I told my parents to get off the bed and I lifted the mattress up to see under. There are wooden planks and then you can see through to the floor. I get the flashlight as I'm holding up the mattress, and sure enough, the little mouse is in the corner, inside the perimeter of the bed. Somehow he scaled the six to nine inch wall and got into the inside of the bed frame. My mom and I lifted the mattress (with Mickey still laying down on it) and set it on the floor. The orangees were patrolling the room looking for the mouse. Mali had a better idea of where it was. Morris was clueless.
I grabbed the writable CD-R spindle plastic top from my room and a manilla folder to trap the mouse. It was still in the bed frame, though exposed. It had no where to go. I crept up behind it slowly got myself into position and quickly lowered the spindle top and trapped it!! AH HA!!! GOT YOU BASTARD!
That was exciting. 11PM on a Sunday night, catching a mouse. Morris sensed it's presence. Good cat. Mali was clueless. And Mickey clearly didn't give a ****. The whole time he didn't get up. Morris, even though he's kind of stupid, is kind of a smart hunter. He realized I had caught the mouse and gave up hunting. But Mali, even 15 minutes after I caught it, was still patroling my parent's room.
ah yes... the excitement never ends in my house.
But the shitty part is... that's the second mouse I've found in the past 2 or 3 weeks. I moved the monitor and saw a few mouse terds. Not a lot, but still, that's bad. I don't know where they are coming in from or how they are coming into my room... or for that matter... why? There isn't food in my room!
Maybe they are attracted to MJ?
Who knows... bah... well, I'm keeping my room clutter free so any possible mice have no room to hide from my predators.
