In responce to the fact that CDZ is on our Continent, with MW's, What do you propose for the nation?
Are there any plans, to implement our build up to war, that you can add to, that will bring us out of that fire to Victory?
Any placement of cities that will give us a better advantage (over the time of settler builds)??
What type of units should we be working on. Is ther anything that we haven't missed, as of yet?
War, for War's sake is always good, but we also need an economic capability to be able to deal with the aftermath of that war (or conducting that war on a long term basis). What plans do you think that we should persue, with these reguards?
With us persuing WC & Wheel the next several tuns, what would be the best target, first?? CBR or CDZ?? Can we trust CDZ to work with us?? When would you expect them (assuming that they do work with us against CBR) to try to backstab us??
What would you do, if faced with a Despotic GA, while still REX'ing, if triggered by a CDZ attack?

Three Consuls, making my position part of the consul team, not the consul team.
We have many ministries that are busy running various sections of the Apolyton team.
Good growth so far, E_T that be your speciality. Using specialists and allowing them to do their stuff makes for a strong team.
Direction, I would be for taking us to war, and eradicating the neighbourhood. That would not be my decision, a decision for the whole team.
As to a despotic GA, that could happen, hope we avoid it.

Apolyton - a place of aggression and manic warfare
CFC - a place where the admins cry if you post to aggressively
We will win this game through aggressive warfare and skillful manipulation of micro-management.
Paddy lectures on balance in the Horde, I learning that just warfare does not always win. He also talks a great deal on the need for team work, and we have many members here.
Ljube teaches that diplomacy and warfare need to be closely utilized, while forever making sure to look closely at the way of the worker. Making sure to never let one tile go un noticed.
Chrisius teaches that the art of dilpomacy is the art of stringing your neighbour up at a well constructed gallows, as the carpenters are everywhere.
Plato's the voice of reason and loyalty, his teachings and examples has helped me in further understanding the grace and aggression of good diploamcy, backed up by a good military.
So in all the teachings that have come my way through the Horde, I say we build our economy for war, we build our war machine, we step up our diplomatic dealings so as to have nations bouncing to our needs, or they feel the force of Apolyton.

Yes, you will be part of a team, but a very powerful part. So the question does have merit, in context

but the thing is, direction is provided by the team and Consuls. In this respect, the Consuls make the final decision and helps provide direction to these Ministries.
In the above (besides war and more war), what would be your "vision" of our nation, within your length of term 3 months)?
What would you present to our nation (mostly lurkers, mind you) in the way to go about going to war?
Would you advocate slowmovers vs fast movers?
What kind of Military needs should we be looking at?
Should we take Unit builds away from some possible unbuild (and currently unplanned city) to build SoZ?? Where do you think that we should build it?

SO, do you think that we shold take both out, or one?
Which one??
Diplomatiacally, we are about to work out a 50 turn NAP deal, with CBR. Do you think, that we shuld go for them first? Or maybe manipulate things to where we and CBR go after CDZ, taking care of CBR as the dust settles?
If we can change to either Republic or Monarchy, before the wars (keeping Feudalism out because it's just too far away to even consider), which do you think we should look at? Remember, to plan ahead enough to get the best for us, under which ever GA government...
What direction do you think the wholeteam should go. Remember, your providing a leadership role....

I'm not asking about what you hope, I'm asking what you think we should do, both if cought in one and to prevent one.

Yeah.... But we are NOT the Horde. The Horde is a subset of what WE are, which IS Apolyton. Team Apolyton IS all of the teams in the C3CDG (and the PTWISDG, PTWDG's, MZODG, all of the SPDG's, past and present, and a few from the CFC and Webringen DG's). This team even springs back to Strat Posts, from just after Civ3 was released.
We are a many and diverse team.
So, as potenital Consul to this team, what would you bring to this that would add to the greater whole?
[EDIT]And we can teach you more than the Horde, very likely. And there are things they can still teach us. Learning is constant, even in defeat[/edit]

the consuls haven't worked like a team since a long time ago. Usually one of the consuls is the most active and the other two are just back-up players. Currently I'm one of the consuls but I haven't do anything which is required from me. There are many reasons for this passive behaviour but the most important is NYE is doing a hell of a good work and I can't see how could I help him. That's why I'm trying to keep the intel stats up to date.
So back to you - if you are elected for a consul you may become that main player. With other words oue engine. A lot of things would depend on you if the things happen so that you became that figure.
Ruby, I know you are a part of the Horde team. I have just learned you like wars. But could you really introduce yourself? I haven't voted so far only because I don't know anything more about you.

Hehe, Paddy. I hope that I wasn't perseived as throwing Dirt. I'm just asking things as if he was in a debate/in front of cameras. Because, I KNOW how much nye does as Consul. There will be times that he can do what he does, will be on vacation, have resigned, who knows, but it will happen (RL is a muther at times).
Is it right to ask what was asked, to make sure of my vote. Yeah, I voted for Krill, but it might have been different, if Rubychaser had been on the ball. And this Poll just opened.
We have a lot of lurkers, many even who don't know as much about Rubychaser, as they do about Krill (or the Banana, for that matter). So, this is his last chance, this election, to show why he should be elected.
I don't take anything away from any contribution that he can make to the team. Shoot, he could be the best Consul that we ever had. But he needs to show, to the people who make the vote, why he should be voted for.
Shoot, even with myself having already voted for Krill (and had posted a recomendation), if he was to present his arguments and answers, with sufficient tact, knowledge and wisdom, then he would have very likely walked away with it (trust me, I know from experiance and from knowing human nature).
[EDIT]H3ll, if he had convinced me, I would have changed my recomendation in a heartbeat. And I know that there are people here who know that I would.[/edit]
Yeah, so I had voted early, but it;s the last minute votes that count, not the initial ones.
Can I help it if someone doesn't take the "grilling" like they should, in this situation?

so, you habe a lot of expirience with leading armies to success.
What about micromanaging - strong trait/weak trait? City planning? Simultaions? Military planning?
What about relations with other teams, skills with diplomacy?
And finally - what is your expirience with actual turn playing, reporting, etc?
as a note before you answer (or point to posts where you have already mentioned these matters) there is nothing wrong having no expirience with some of those, or having weaknesses - noone is perfect and everyone has been a main turn player for a first time.

Micro Management: not really me at all. We have many of them here, see E_T.
Diplomacy: I talk it as I have to, again we have many skilled members here with this trait.
Turn Playing: Yes I know how to play the turn. I follow the turn closely some weeks. Have been very active in turn chats in Civ III demo games, and play pbem's. The format used in this game for reporting is no where near as complex as that used in the Horde, which I participate in.
Strengths and Weaknesses: I have many of both. My understading is you are looking for an officer of the deck here on the good ship Apolyton, not a dictator. If it was a dictatorship then why have 50+ members?

- If we take CBR at their word, that CDZ is on our continent, and we assume that there are only 3 teams on this continent, then we should prepare for war.
War with which team though, we can not say. Right now, we do not know the layout of the continent, so it could be long and thin, with CBR in the middle, and CDZ/us at either end, or we could form something like a triangle.
We know that CDZ are the Iroquois. We know that they need three techs to get a 3.1.2 UU, and they could be about to finish the second tech in the next few turns.
If they build chariots for upgrade, we could see a 10 strong stack of MWs' in, say, 20 turns, if they really prepare for war.
So I suggest that we prepare for war as well. Although we don't know for certain who CDZ will go after, we can take it as read that they will attack someone. We need to be ready to repel that attack if it is us, or help CBR if it is they who are attacked.
- I plan to use one settler for a worker pump. Every other settler I would like to see used for the war effort. The worker pump shall be used to produce workers to add to the barracks cities, to increase their pop quickly, so that they can be brought up to 10 shields per turn asap, instead of having to grow normally
- The Worker pump should be at Poly 89. It is the best position in the short term, while we are looking at war. After that war, if and when we are victorious, that pump will help us to repopulate the land, and will in all probability be abbandonned to make space for other cities to Apolytons' north and north east.
- Enks. Lots and lots of Enks. Let our opponents smash them selves against us in walled towns with Enks, and then our Swords will kill the Survivor.
When we discover IW, and find that we have Iron close at hand, we should try to get a city there to claim iron. Swords would be a welcome addition to any force.
- 4 turn settler pump in Apolyton, and a four turn settler pump in Apolyton 89 (if we don't build the Enk in Apolyton) mean that we can build one settler every two turns. That should be adequate amounts of settlers to resettle the land in a decent time frame, although we would need a some more worker pumps. Also, we can always churn out settlers in the war and settle our rear, if we ever need to for any reason.
- I would not trust CDZ, especially as the Iroquois. I would rather ally with CBR, to take down CDZ. If that works, try to get into a position to take down CBR, and be the sole power on this continent.
If we did work with them, then I would expect them to backstab us when our troops were fighting CBR, with a hidden stack of MWs.

Ah, my young apprentice, t'is the moderators who act should you violate forum rules. And it's not for aggression (just look at our round one thread), it's for obvious reasons (swearing, flaming, etc.). CFC is aimed at a family atmosphere, and as such, might be more heavily moderated than a forum here (I don't know much about Apolyton, so forgive my ignorance). Simply don't rely on swears to express yourself.
Although, every now and then, it feels so damn good to open up an MSN window and swear to my heart's content...
