My pod-popping was quite nice, thank you. IIRC, I got four monoliths, two artifacts and a materials pod (completed a former, dang). I was sending the artifacts back home to pump up my efforts at the Weather Paradigm. No alien life forms, but a worm did come out of the fungus (we whupped 'em!) early.

In answer to your early question, my pod popping in the first game was pretty good. I had found 1 monolith, several resources, had an independent scout cloaned, 1 artifact and 1 mind worm.

Hive scout report

We encountered a strange life form that appeared out of nowhere and made these mental attacks against our garrison. Johnson's unit was able to eliminate it and retrieve some energy from it but I wouldn't want to face these things in greater numbers.

My scientists informed me that all research towards the Weather Paradigm project we had been working on was gone. However, the energy from that project could still be put to good use if we chose a new project immediately, so we did so.

However, it was clear that the first major accomplishment on this rock went to the Hive.
