Citizens and fellow believers in the efficacy of Planet, prepare for conflict. It seems that our alien neighbours are going to shoot first and ask questions afterwards. A menacing war machine - some frightened citizens are calling it an Ogre - has appeared in the vicinity of Sporerunner Sanctum. The garrison scout battalion is preparing itself. Alphonse is making all speed through the fungus to intercept the alien menace.

The original Alien patrol that we spotted is now nearing Dawn of Planet itself.

As a result, I have authorized the rush completion of a Colony Pod with instructions to leave immediately and put distance between it and the direction of the Alien threat.

As always, Planet's will be done.

Cha Rynn turned to her counsel and mentor, the venerable Googlie, and said:

"I hope I was right to trust you. The command was empathed to Alphonse and the attack on the Ogre was successful. He is, however considerably damaged, and will need to lie low in the fungus for a while to recuperate.

"As you suggested, I have again ordered the roover crew to make for the alien city. Their scout now is nopwhere to be seen. And the colony convoy has left, following the river bed. We have commenced training another scout battalion at Dawn of Planet, just in case."

Googlie smiled benignly at his protege.

"You did well," he said. "The aliens are at their weakest right now. If we could induce them to surrender to us, that would indeed be a coup. But I think not. Better they be eradicated before they can do us real harm."

Cha Rynn looked up at him.

"I do hope you are right," she said.

He nodded, contemplatively.

"So do I," he murmured.

yes, it is blind tech, and you shouldn't know what you are researching (other than "build" or "discover", etc.) You could well be researching three or four consecutive techs of the same type.

OK, but, what I am saying is that if I go to the change research effort feature, it shows that I am currently researching Biogen, which I already have...

Does that mean that those research points are being wasted ?

Absolutely No!
If you watch at left bottom of the screen you can see all already-researched techs, and a part of the tech tree.
Example: if you put the cursor on Information Networks it will appear InfoNet datas.
