prophet Cbn, in the face of rising public opinion, made a suprise announcement supporting the Drone faction " While they are not followers of the True Way, we must understand that understanding of Planet takes time and they have shown a willingness to make some efforts".
The statement was followed by numerous televid stories of Drone Activity beneficial to Planet. Within 24 hours, all anti-drone demonstrations had stopped with the exception on a continuing "Vigil for Planet" at Plantlovers Cove, the headquarters of the opposition " Planet Above All" (PAA) party. A spokesman for the PAA stated " all we have seen is a dedicated PR campaign by the prophet and the Drones to fool the people into believing theere is nothing to fear. We will not be fooled"
Despite the rhetoric, PAA support dropped from 18% at the height of the demonstrations to 5 % in the aftermath of the prophet's statement. Political analysts believe that the prophets unusual step in speaking directly from the pulpit at the Shrine of Planet was designed to play upon his exalted status as the Blessed Prophet. It marks the first time the prophet spoke from the pulpit on secular matters.
Analysts are speculating that this might signal a greater willingness of the prophet to use the force of his religious authority and power to maintain himself as head of state. With approval ratings of over 70% in his secular role and an increase to 97%participation in the Planet meditation ceremonies, it appears that the prophet has maintained, if not strengthened his control over the government.
In local news, troops killed two more mindworms in the last two years and captured a third. Unfortunately Former crew Alpha were killed in the battles. Services will be at the shrine of Planet where the bodies lay in state. Interment will occur at the Holy Order recycling center on Thursday afternoon. Our thoughts are with the families in the time of tragedy.

I plopped myself down next to the Commodore. He grinned and winked at me, bringing out a bottle of rum.
"Sir, your wife won't like to see that, and I don't want to be around when she finds out..." I began...
"Heh. She'll never know...unless you tell. Have you seen the Cultist broadcasts lately?"
"Ya, Sir...they should learn to cool off."
"Well, they mean well. I haven't spoken to Forman Q-tip sence Planet-fall, but I wouldn't worry. He'll keep 'em clam. It's a good thing none of our folks go into that. Honestly, I think that some of our people have forgotten who's in charge. No matter, they're happy."
"True sir...however, I think we do need to help get the efficecy up."
"Point. That can wait, however..."
We enjoyed a nice mug of rum, then we headed of to work.
