I also have a newbie question.


When I loaded the turn up, one of my bases was not there. Gone. Disappeared. Just empty land where it used to be. The game did not show me anyone capturing or attacking it first. The base was simply not there. Even if it was attacked by worms (and didn't have any garrison in it), shouldn't I see the attack? Or is something much more dastardly afoot?

hmm - that IS strange. Even if you didn't recieve a warning, afaik size one university bases will not be wiped out by mindworms - they will destroy the Network Node first. Maybe this was the second attack ? ...or there was more than one worm (unlikely - but still possible, especially if someone triggered them from a pod) . The only other reasonable explanation is it was taken by another faction - if the tile is now inside the fog of war you may not see the invading unit. In any case i think a warning should have been given. As this is my first PBEM too - I'm not sure...perhaps you should consult Tau Ceti.

Sounds like a worm ate your base. If that happens, you get no message, and you only get to see the natives move if you are last in the turn sequence.

JPJ: I believe the worms eat both a base facility and a population point. They also reset all current production in the base they attack to zero.
