My fellow leaders,
do not believe the hysterical cries for war that echo from the Greeks. Panic has stricken them, obviously, for they start to spread lies to get you other people in their newly started crusade against us.
Let me clarify some things:
(1) The slavers searching Trondheim for slaves were not acting on our orders, but rather directly against them.
(2) While the Greeks claim that the slavers attacked the city twice, Trondheim went down to 1 population after the first slaver appeared there, so it was even IMPOSSIBLE for the slaver to find more victims.
(3) We don't even HAVE hordes of musketeers at our disposal, and we wouldn't waste them by conquering the territory of the Greeks, which are barren and lifeless, as the Greeks claim themselves.
(4) We are not looking forward for any wars, whether against the Greeks nor against the Mexicans. All the opposite - we are only looking forward to have cordial relations with the Mexican people.
Who will you believe? It's hard, I know, but take into account the fact how the Greeks behaved when discussing their current situation. They complained and complained about their own territory, always pointing to the river valleys and lush forests of vikland.
When we offered them our help, they replied without friendship, as they did with the Mexicans. In both cases, they only complained, wanting more, and demanded gifts from both of us instead of being happy to receive the favorable deals we offered them.
Believe who you want, but don't complain later on if you should notice that the Greeks may ask for help and beg only as long as they feel weak, and that they will send even more threats and lies our way when they feel strong enough to conquer those river valleys and forests which rightfully belong to us.
(((To the players: I was away for a few days, and asked my flatmate to play the turn should it arrive. He hasn't played against live opponents yet, so immediately assumed that slavery probably happens all the times. I'm NOT trying to enslave anyone, and I don't want to see war erupting - even though my units went to war readiness after Saddam's recent threats.)))

Turn 43 ------> berXpert
The new Viking leadership has finally reached everything it could hope for - our civilization is now recognized the most powerful in the world. Nonetheless, we'll continue on our road to peace.
Oh, world, take note of this:
While we haven't done anything with the troops garrisoned west of our empire, and have even started to withdraw our scouts so as not to enrage the obviously unstable and aggressive greek neighbors, they have started the war they want to make us responsible for. Stacked units marched towards our unprotected cities, and our only hope of defense is the Phalanx which dug in at a small crossing they wanted to use. This place is now home to a staredown between troops; A STAREDOWN WE NEITHER WANTED NOR WORKED ON.
While we have made any diplomatic attempt to appease our neighbors - even granting them technological advances FOR FREE (!) - they don't even see us as worthy of a reply to our offerings.
For these reasons, we'll now officially treat the Greeks as a hostile civilization, sad as it is that our friendship has to end this way. Be wary, world, for the Greeks only ask for help as long as they feel weak, and start with threats and aggression as soon as you don't grant them gifts coming from your own hard work!

Saddam sees through the Viking leader and has recognized him to be a foolhardy tool of the devil .. Why must you pick on greece..Barren, Lifeless, poverty? Not even a damn river on our Huge land-mass!
Regardless, we have defied the odds and have researched musketeers to defend ourselves against the Viking threat!
Saddam admits that yes he has scouts in Vikland, but he also reports the Expelling of a slaver unit! This unit was responsible for his enslavement of Byzantuim turns ago ! WE decided not to kill him, in hopes that the leader of Vikland would think it more as an olive brance, than an act of war!
Hostile- no? Evil-no? Greece is peaceful and is no threat to anyone!
We have not stacked any units toward your citys. This phalanx and mounted archer deployment in the thin Inlet that divides Vikland and Greece is merely to keep your Slavers from crossing over... We dont want war, but we can and will defend ourselves against this viking menace.
Saddam also noted that the new leader of vikingland was irresponsible and was prone to stab any nation in the back , even if there was a military alliance between them (like greece and viking).
Rubb, if you have attacked me, you have not been fooling anyone. I will get a screen shot of this attack and your lie will be exposed. Just like the slaver incident not to long ago..
And that does not go well for your reputation later in the game!

Greeks,
we apologized, we repented, we paid you in advances, and we're still willing to pay some gold as well.
What more shall we do? What else do we have to take from you before it is enough?
You need two units to defend a "border" which was not defined before. To defend it, we must add, from an imagined army of slavers ready to sweep your country. An "army" built up by your benefactors and friends.
We still harbor no ill will towards you, and as soon as you stop accusing and threatening us, we feel like returning to our former politics of peace.
Everyone: I lent my copy of Call to Power to a friend, who has not returned the CD so far. I'll try to take my turn ASAP; but feel free to next me if it should take too long, Keygen. The same goes for Another World
