That day is coming, of course. I think Front Office Football (?) is on a d/l only basis. If gaming companies could circumvent publishers altogether, can you imagine?! The companies wouldn't see such lousy percentages NOR would they be tied to the quarterlies of a bunch of suits. Also, imagine: You realize a file is corrupt...so rather than recalling all those CDs or issuing new ones (anybody play Ultima 9?), you just post a new file for d/l.

Then again, I suppose the complete zipped Civ 3 would come in at, what, 200-400 Megs? My cable line can certainly handle it, but 56k's would be dead in the water. Ah, well, the evil publishers with their paper-pushing will rule gaming for a while yet.

or goto the local library and D/l from there and burn the zipped file onto a CD... But i am reaaly hoping that they take advantag eof the size of DVDs and include all manuals and movies and anything else they can thionk of on the one disc
