And this is why I support the idea of terror in Civ III.

It would an interesting new way to get small fanatic groups to work
for you like puppets (just as a comparison).
Like in the real world, governments have supported military
groups (mostly called terrorists) by financing them or giving
away weapons to them. A good example of this is Osama im Laden
(well, I know it's Osama bin Laden, but this version this one
is a bit more fun). US gave him financial support, so that he could combat against the forces of CCCP (=USSR).

My opinion is that the terrorist unit could bee an expansion of
the fanatics unit or totally new unit.

But why on earth the fanatics?!?
As we know (hopefully), many fundamental movements
are known to have committed terrorist attacks (car bombs,
gas attacks, suicide attacks, etc). Warriors/soldiers commit
different kinds of terror in the name of their faith.
I'm not trying to pick on Muslims or anyone else, because
there's even groups like this in the "western world".

But back to business. The terrorists would bring totally new
aspects into the politics in Civ III. So it wouldn't have to
to bring very detailed managing into the game (that what Sid
didn't want to have in the original Civ (this is his personal statement)).
Different kinds of terror could by strengthen the alliances
between the members of them, and by that, you could also
fight "cold wars", without having to use your own forces.
I'm also well aware of that in Civ III it should be easier to have
marionette regimes, when it was more than difficult in Civ II
(well, I have never succeeded with that in Civ II).

So the conclusion is that it shouldn't be impossible to
bring this element into Civ III (or at least in it's expansion pack) and
that it would give us (=Civ fans) new options to manage
our political relations with other nations.

Just think about MP with friends, where you could cause
losses to one of your mates army, without automatically involving
you in the events. But of course he/she could try to figure
out who might have caused the terrorists' attack.

And then it would be time for revenge.

Once again I have to apologize for all
my linguistic mistakes.
