May I humbly suggest, ixnay, that you flip-flop your two Xerxes images?
You can see the sky in the background of your current #2, which usually indicates a more ancient time.
Also, his attire is characteristic of the Achaemenid period, the 1st dynasty. (Looks like ancient Hammurabi, too)
Additionally, i think your current #1 is an attempt to represent a Parthian or Sassanid monarch. Those came later. Anyhow, I think it's the pre-Muslim, post-Greek Persian attire, and should be second.
My hypothesis is that industrial Xerxes will either look like a Muslim or a Victorian, and modern X will be in a suit like everyone else.

I think that the Ancient and Middle Age Hammaurbies (no clue how to speel) should be switched. The Middle Age one is much more simply dressed than the Ancient one.

I don't think that's a tie. First, a tie and toga would look stupid. Second, the "tie" is the color of his Medieval toga. That would seem to indicate that he has some of the previous age left in him.
Does anyone else besides me disagree with Liz's outfit? English culture today wasn't based completely on Roman culture. It's more German.
