Increase Your PM Length

If they discriminate against 2/3 of their potential market, then they deserve to lose money to piracy.

That will teach them to be prompt next time.

Piracy is not the way...

I do, however, feel the enterntainment industry is discriminating against Europe in general. We get everything later than the US (including stuff from the European companies) and it costs more too.

that's a simple question. Firaxis/whoever the hell is rushing this game is NOT rushing it for release in Europe. Hence, they'll be able to implement multiplayer/fix bugs/balance the game for you guys. Meanwhile, we're gona get a beta/half assed version. YIPEE I CANT WAIT!

I doubt that. We are going to get the same version as you, only later.

AND WITH THE ADDED PENALTY THAT IT WILL BE LOCALISED!

i agree with axi, if they dont release in Australia where i live within a week of release in america (it takes a few days to ship) then the natural thing i will do is to shop around for a pirate copy.

I'm willing to payt for the game, i want to support them, but they also have to suppot us. Ill do whatever it takes to get my hands on a copy. Pirate or not

doesnt europe use a different standard for boxes? maybe they have to have the packages custom made? and non-english countries need to have it translated...that takes some extra time from the gold release.

I feel for all of our international CIV brothers who will have to wait for the game's release.

It is a shame that there are delays... really.

A) Europe uses the same packaging as the US.

B) We don't need or even want to have it translated.

Truly there is one good thing with the delay (and probably the translation) : they usually fix 80% of the bugs that US gays receive for granted

I prefer the silver high quality CD and the manual that comes with it than a cheap pirate copy if the game interests me a lot.

I will buy a pirate copy as soon as available and if I decide that the game worth it when it will be available in Greece I'll buy it.

As I told you unfortunately it is a marketing trick. If a Greek company would release a game it would be available first in Greek market and after a short period in the rest of the world.

But of cource this won't happened as there is no Greek company developing worthing games

Keygen: We can pool our capital, you, me, paiktis22 and MarkG and create:

"The First Greek Games Company" (or TFGGC for short)

Our first game could be a civilisation game where the only playable civ would be the Greeks, playing against up to 16 unique barbarian tribes.

if its a good game, then you should buy it (even if you warez it first for a "demo").

if its a bad game, then you'll probably unistall the warez anyway.

and i HIGHLY doubt they are "discriminating" againt a majority of their market...they are a business, you know.

Pure profit? Support Apolyton, buy Civilization: The Boardgame

Considering it ships at the same time in Canada and Canada has a slightly less computer piracy rate and a slightly higher computer literacy rate, I'd say they have a higher % profit with us .

But, when your population is outnumbered 9:1, the return on investment always favours the big guy, unless they are communist.

quick question:
I see that you are from ontario, but i will ask anyway. does the quebec province get the french verisio of games also? if so, do they get it at the same time France does, or sooner?

sorry if its a sore topic, i am not overly familar with the ontario/quebec relationship. i am just curious.

I just hope they will not spoil the game in Poland by localising it (at least some will be available in original version).

Although I bet it will take ages to get it here.

So many Poles around here...

I have already pre-ordered the limited edition, so I guess it will arrive here earlier than in the shops. But I will check them as well. If it is there sooner, than I'll buy the standard version in the shop as well. As long as I can play!!
