Neutron bombs are essentially normal nuclear weapons with a somewhat decreased blast radius (cca. 700 metres radius of total destruction, further heavy damage... for a typical neutron bomb). They are engineered to produce one strong initial pulse of radiation to incapacitate people. Depending on the size of the neutron bomb, the 8000 rems required for immediate incapacitation can be up to 1200 metres from the epicentre of the explosion.

Heh, heh Support Apolyton, buy Alpha Centauri

"I want a hamburger! I want a hot dog! I want a tactical nuke! I want a strategic nuke!"

"Spalding!! You'll get nothing and like it!"

{Sorry, but a bit of American culture to spice up the boards. It isn't as though we have centuries of culture to contribute to the world, you know}

Nukes are great when you alone have them. When the idiotic AI in Civ 2 had nuclear capability, the game got tedious. Here's hoping that the Civ 3 AI is more nuclear friendly.

Support Apolyton buy from Amazon

There should be a Nuclear Screen where you coordinate your attack/retaliation. Tactical nukes could exist (like in CivII) but a nuclear war on a grand scale should be fought from a war room (NORAD). That way, if there is a risk of a full-blown nuclear war, it will become the deterrant it really is.
