Just to clear things up:

FIRAXIS has neither confirmed nor denied any release date
INFOGRAMMES has claimed Oct. 30 to be the release date
MANY DISTRIBUTORS have been saying Oct. 17

IMHO, we can't tell just yet.

yes, i have a copy of it.
here is the deal:
i put a custom avatar up when it was first offered, when you only needed to be an apoylton member for a year to post a custom avatar. then after teh WTC attack, i went to switch it to an animated .gif file of a US flag. but there was no option to add a custom one. so, i thought i had to remove the old one first before adding a new custom avatar. well, after i removed the old one, i still had no option to add a custom avatar. then i read the FAQ to find out what was going on...and to my dismay, i now needed 500 posts for it, instead of being a member for 1 year. (*cough* BS *cough* )
so, now i have no more avatar...all because i wanted to put an US flag in it place to support my country

i emailed Mark, but he ignored me.

so now i have posted more postes (125+) in the past 3 days than i have in the past 3 1/2 years ...well, not quite, but almost )

There seems to be a lot of threats lately in the various Apolyton boards of PCR and banning because of spam. So in an attempt to keep this thread legitimate:

I went to Infogrames.com North America to see if I could find any info on a release date there. First thing I noticed is that CivIII is plastered nice and big on the start page. Yay

After being redirected to the Civ3.com site, and filling out the email update stuff, I went and checked the links for Amazon.com, EBworld, and Gamestop.com- all of which give a release date of Oct. 30th.

So I couldn't find any release date info at Infogrames, or Civ3.com.

Yeah their link on th first page is misleading to some extent...i had to navigate through the us.infograms.com site to find the infogrames' old page. there used to be a release date on the old page (http://us.infogrames.com/games/civ3_pc/) but it appears to have been removed.

i just keep checking gonegold.com ...they are usually pretty acurate (dispite Dan Q. ripping of them on the news item of the day)

thats where i was looking, but i no longer saw the relsease date posted (it used to be there). did i overlook it?

Well it is officially gold now and I for one cannot wait for it's release! I feel like I have been waiting for this game forever and now I see the light at the end of the tunnel!
