FYI, the Edward II treatment involves (I believe) shoving a tube up someone's ass, then dropping a burning hot coal down the tube and forcing into the body...not a pleasant way to go, but an ironic one for Edward II as he was gay...

And Albert Speer is not what I would call an evil man, those who put him on the same level as, say, Heinrich Himmler or Adolf Hitler are ignorant of history.

Speer was a pretty bad guy. He happily used slave labour throughout WW2, despite knowing the conditions in which many of the slaves worked (he personally visited the notorious 'Dora' V2 plant). It also appearst that he knew of the mass killings of the jews, yet he did nothing to stop them.
IMHO Speer probably deserved to hang.

Being the 'least bad' member of the Nazi cabinet is nothing to boast about

I agree that Speer was more naive then evil, and while he was in jail after 1945 he appears to have realised the extent of the evil he commited. Still, he unquestionably instigated what can only be descibed as crimes against hummanity, and deserved the death penalty for his crimes.

Let us not get into borderline gay-bashing here (even unintentional). The Edward II murder method was to produce death without any known external evidence (they did not do autopsies back then), it had nothing to do with his supposed peccadillos.. Most poisons available to his killers would also have produced external signs. It is also possible that there is no truth to legendary circumstances of his death. Bugs should be able to provide a more full account of his demise.

Their user profiles have been changed administratively to prevent them from posting. We don't delete the names, because then someone can reregister an innocuous name, and then make the name change after the fact. Keeping the names in the user list, but unable to post, interferes with anyone trying to reuse the names.

The other is an image of a guy about to be shot. You say this is a picture of him when he hasn't been fighting like a man? So you're not just killing him, but killing him when he's defenseless? The "Bin Liner" bit, which I read as garbage bag, suggests to me the hapless newbie in question is actually no fan of you-know-who. Was OBL tried after the Bin Liner one failed? Not a DL in that case - just a newbie getting tangled up in the registration process I suspect.

So, is this a case of an innocent newbie getting shot at the cyber check point by the "forces of freedom"? Another civilian casualty of the conflict in that case

Actually in certain issues there IS no neutrality... technically you could say this about all issues.

There are just certain degrees of FOR and AGAINST.

examples:

WWII.

"Neutrals"
-
Spain-> Supported Fascist Regimes
America-> Helped British shipping
Switzerland-> (Not quite sure if they were a true neutral... they are not mentioned much in history)

Others either leaned one way or the other

In South Africa (Boers- Mainly support the Germans; Brits- Mainly support the English)

etc.

Thus, there is very, very, very rarely any true neutral government- because in a time of war governments are forced to alter policies towards both nations... Unless they can alter policies equally, then it is unlikely the nation is truely NEUTRAL in the sense of the word.

There are questions that you can't be neutral on, as in...

Pakistan - do we let them use our airspace or not.

It's yes or no, there is no "maybe".

But this is certainly not all the time, and there are plenty of issues where you can be neutral.

Well, indirectly at least, Albert Speer did more damage than most of the Third Reich elite since he did some really effective work in increasing wartime production to weopons etc. that certainly prolonged by war and gave the Nazis more time to kill more people.

OBL was first, bin Liner was second. If Mark or Dan want to let someone register under that name, then that's their prerogative.
