Due to some strange bug my civ was controlled by the AI last turn (I did remember to hit CTRL-N, I know becouse I checked), I think it was becouse of this that war was declared against france (or vice versa).
All my units also had goto orders, so dont blame me if they have been trespassing...

Thus my statement about unconfiremed rumours in the preceding post

Austria and Spain Enter Military Alliance
Madrid.- Austrian diplomats have announced that a new alliance has been reenacted with the Bourbon Kingdom of Spain. "A return to roots" Emperor Karreras has stated, as Spain and Austria renew their old ties formally in order to bring peace to Europe once again.

Skirmishes at Verona
Verona.- Artillery bombardment from the fortress outside Verona decimated a French regiment of unknown type as it attempted an assault on the walls. Meanwhile, just north of the skirmish, an Austrian regiment was destroyed by a French column after dealing heavy casualties on the French.

Liberation of the Balkans Proceeds as Planned
Sofia.- Writing from the newly conquered city of Sofia, two new balkanic cities have been liberated from the heathen Ottomans. Sofia, key city to proceed with the liberation of Greece, fell to a joint artillery and uhlan assault with no fatal casualties dealt on the Austrian regiments.
The city of Stara Zagora fell to an assault of Austrian hussars and musketeers and many have said that forces have amassed to go out to the conquest of Constantinople.

Alliance with Russia sought
Vienna.- Emperor Karreras has stated that in order to completely expel the Ottomans from the Balkans and drive them back into Turkey that the Russians have been invited to liberate the city of Varna. Emperor Karreras has also suggested that a Russian assault through Armenia would sucessfully engulf the Ottoman troops by opening a new front that would cause the total destruction of Ottoman power forever.

British ships on the Adriatic Blockaded
Split.- The Adriatic squadron scrambled after receiving news of an unannounced British warsquadron approached the Adriatic sea. The Adriatic has been successfully blockaded and Emperor Karreras has demanded to know the intentions of the British with this unannounced squadron sailing in Austrian waters.

Mikhail Strogoff has been deported to Siberia. Apparently his highness Wakexander got upset after realise that the liberation of Varna was published in the Austrian papers before it happened

Nope. I've only liberated Varna from ottomans.

This "squadron" is a frigate escorting a merchantman and traders bound for Sarajevo with Copper from British India.

Thanks for your help, but I think I will have to terminate this playtest here. I know Chris can't play any more and I suspect Shaka has problems too.

If any of you want to play some 2- or 3-way game when I release the final cut of Boney2 (probably soon after Christmas, now) please let me know.
