I don't think Bin Laden is in Jalalabad or Kandahar, he is out somewhere in the styx, or out of Afghanistan altogether by now. The bombs will have been a bit too close for comfort. Question is, where could he be now, it is very probable he may have fled the country...

The "rebels" are old time Mujaheddin leader Younus Khalis and his Hezeb-e Islami group. They're locals, but can't be considered rebels in any real sense - they're as pro bin Laden and anti-west as the Taleban, but a core group of real fighters local to the area.

I am now a little more worried about losing this bet. The quick military collapse of the Taliban didn't surprise me but I'm a little concerned that OBL is A. Going to get snuffed by a lucky shot/air strike or B. Is going to make a suicidal last stand somewhere.

Aside from those 2 possibilities, I still think he'll get away and if he does, will still be at large come April.
