This is with Avatars off in the CP.

When the Avatars were deactivated the times were all less then 30 seconds.

It seem to speed up.
0.22 seconds to load the redirect page
11.09 seconds to load the thread after my reply
and 6.21 seconds for this reply page.
I'll do a threadlisting test as well...

82.83 seconds
and finally the index page: 25.71 seconds

It is faster then last time. But still slower then before.

I think we need serious rationing of avatars until the server can handle it properly. Only those with reg dates of 1970/69 should have avatars.

Why does the system force you (or appears to force you) to download the avatars fresh each time. Surely the temp files can be used?

It has to do with a bug in the vB database that holds the Avatars. There is a hack for it that makes the Avatars to be stored as files. But Markos doesn't use it.
